Michelle Obama is a national treasure. A woman who’s intelligent, kind, poised and stylish, our FLOTUS is a woman worth looking up to. And whenever we actually grow up, we hope to be just like her. So today, in honor of her 49th birthday, we’ve put together a little post of some of our very favorite MObama gifs. Click through to enjoy. Keep reading »
With apologies to Jackie O, I think Michelle Obama is the most stylish first lady this country has ever had, and her fashion choices just keep getting better. Case in point: the stunning Michael Kors gown she donned for the Kennedy Center Honors last night. With its glittering gold fabric and jeweled neckline, it’s a little edgy and totally elegant. This right here, folks, is an iconic fashion moment. Check out another pic of Mrs. O’s amazing dress after the jump! Keep reading »
This weekend, the Barack Obama Facebook page posted this picture of the first couple attending a Veteran’s Day ceremony. My friend Molly immediately sent me the link along with the message, “What is Michelle wearing?! I want it!” I did some sleuthing (and by “sleuthing” I mean I went to the awesome website “Mrs. O,” which tirelessly chronicles all of Michelle’s fashion choices, and typed in “striped sweater”) and found out the photo is actually from last year, and the divine Miss O’s sweater is a Sonia Rykiel creation that’s no longer available. Sad, yes, but I found three other fabulous sweaters that feature hearts and stripes, and the best part? They’re all less than 100 bucks. Get the shopping details after the jump! Keep reading »
Barack Obama came out on top in last night’s history-making election, and we couldn’t be happier (or more sedated — it takes a lot of Valium to get through that vote count). Of course, our president is the first to say that he’d never have gotten where he is without his girls behind him, and they certainly dress the part of the picturesque first family.
The sisters chose similar silhouettes, with high-waisted circle skirts, easy flats, and tucked-in tops, but Malia’s bold colorblocking in contrast to Sasha’s sweet bow-front blouse (and that gorgeous watercolor green skirt) flaunted their individual sartorial preferences. They both managed to channel a cool, contemporary vibe while still looking like, well, the president’s children. Michelle wore a streamlined oxblood Michael Kors dress which, if you’re a steadfast follower of the first lady’s style, may look familiar — she wore it a few times back in 2010. Mrs. Obama knows full well that fashion isn’t single-use-only, and that’s exactly why we love her. (Among, like, a million other reasons, but that’s one of them.)
