Michelle Williams Continues Her Depressing-But-Good Movie Streak

Since hitting the big time with her “Dawson’s Creek” character Jen Lindley, Michelle Williams has gone on to make mostly independent films. Besides “Brokeback Mountain,” a lot of her movies haven’t landed in theaters—at least not in wide release—and I’ve Netflixed a few of them recently. Right now, I’m halfway through “Wendy and Lucy,” about a young woman who lives out of her car with her dog, and I have to watch it in parts so I don’t get too down. It’s great, but depressing as hell. I think I might have the same reaction to her and Gael Garcia Bernal’s upcoming film, “Mammoth,” which comes to theaters Nov. 20. The movie tells the story of a young family that seems to have it all, until a series of events change their lives. Do you like movies that show the sad side of life? Or do you stick to comedies and lighter films?

Quote Of The Day: Michelle Williams Finally Speaks About Heath Ledger’s Death

Michelle Williams Finally Speaks About Heath Ledger's Death

“I was holding it together by a string and a paper clip in the fall and winter. I didn’t know if I could keep it all together… You console yourself by saying it’s all a deepening process. But it’s wired. After the first year, the pain is less intense; it’s less immediate. But the magical thinking goes away too. And that’s a whole new reckoning. But every time I really miss him and wonder where he’s gone, I just look at [Mathilda.] ...

‘Brokeback Mountain’ was an unrepeatable moment in time, a very charmed time in my life. I was in love; I was in a movie I was proud to be a part of, and with a beautiful brand-new baby. Everything was good in that moment ....

I feel hopeful and grateful. For a while I thought we had lost everything. It makes you want to love better and live better.”

The mini-line’s theme ties in to the movie’s monster-y subjects and includes faux furs designed by Humberto Leon and claw jewelry designed by Pamela Love. Celebs We’d Be Happy To Hire—As Interns

Celebrity Interns

Yesterday we told you about The Gap’s new intern, Kanye West, who joins a long line of celebrities (temporarily) giving up their high-paying day jobs in order to learn something new from the ground up. All of this got me thinking about which celebs we’d like to have intern at The Frisky and what tasks we would give them. After the jump, some of our writers and editors dish on who they’d like to fetch coffee and, uh, other stuff.

Style Stealer: Michelle Williams’ White Canvas Slip-Ons

Michelle Williams

While we think some celebs, like Michelle Williams, deserve more privacy in their lives, we’re secretly a little happy the paparazzi snap them as they go about their business so we can see what they wear when they’re not walking a red carpet. Michelle Williams always looks so cute and casually put-together when she runs out for coffee, and we love how her shoes look as though she’s walked 1,000 miles in them. Want similar sneaks? Pick a pair from the 10 after the jump, then wear them every single day this summer, making sure not to avoid puddles or mud.

Bono Isn’t The Only Famous Godparent

    Godfather Bono

By now you’ve probably heard that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have asked Bono to be godfather to their twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. And that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz are considering John Mayer for godfather of their unborn child. I’ve never really thought about famous godparents probably because I’ve never really had a great relationship with my own godparents, except for my late Uncle Eddie. However, when this news broke, we at The Frisky decided to research other famous godparents and realized some of these relationships are really surprising.
