I’m a great admirer of Madame Obama, I just prefer her without bangs because it doesn’t cover her face. But if she wanted to do it for her fiftieth birthday then I like it.
––Karl Lagerfeld, always good for an offensive soundbite, is backing off his previous comment that Michelle Obama’s bangs make her look like a news anchor. In France, that’s apparently an insult. Our First Lady, everyone. Michelle Obama dropped by “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” last night to show off her dancing skills and raise awareness for her “Let’s Move!” campaign. Love this — love her – so hard.

–Michelle Obama has a “Stars: they’re just like us!” moment on “The Rachael Ray Show,” revealing that, like millions of women before her, she decided to cut her bangs on her 49th birthday, in the midst of a midlife crisis. Her sassy new do appears in her latest official White House portrait, shown above. As someone who has made some really terrible hair decisions as a result of various existential crises (I once got an impulse pixie cut at a salon called “The Hack And Wack”), I applaud her restraint, and I think she looks great.
