Vests may seem like cold-weather clothing, but they’re actually great for when you want to layer during the summer, since they’re, you know, sleeveless. This vest by Michael Kors works with both casual and nice outfits, like an easy jean and tank combo or your simple black dress. Sparkles are so versatile that the possibilities with this piece are endless.
Season seven of “Project Runway” dealt its final “auf wiedersehen” this week. Seth Aaron out-styled Mila and Emilio, further proving my theory that the guy with the most alternative hair on the show has the best chances of winning. Think about it—Seth Aaron’s faux-hawk-punk-rock-side-burn hair thing looks strangely similar to season three winner Jeffrey’s do. Between season one winner Jay McCarroll’s creative hats and the crazy mane of season five’s Christian Siriano, my theory can basically be considered fact.
OK, that’s enough. Something that almost everyone can probably agree on is that Lifetime’s second attempt at hosting the show was much more successful and entertaining than the first. But still, it lacked that Bravo somethin’ somethin’. Keep reading »
Know those convertible pants that become shorts just by unzipping the bottoms? In theory: good idea. In reality: ugly as hell. So it’s pretty amazing that Michael Kors has managed to take the same principle, stick it on a boot, and make it moderately stylish. Behold his new “Franny” style, which can be zipped up or unzipped to create four different length boots. You can rock the currently trendy thigh-high, and once it goes out of style (which it will), take off a level to get a classic calf-height. For everyday wear, unlatch all and skip around in a simple bootie.

So, we are already cringing at thoughts of Vogue editor and fashion royal Anna Wintour addressing the masses at Macy’s in the New York borough of Queens, of all places. The collision of these two worlds is guaranteed to be the stuff good reality shows are made of. (Too bad they’re no longer filming the soon-to-be released documentary “The September Issue.”) Wintour will be joined by designer and “Project Runway” host Michael Kors on September 10 at the department store, where the duo will be on hand to showcase fall trends and sign t-shirts for the first 50 folks in line. The appearance kicks off the city-wide launch of Fashion’s Night Out, a multi-day “shopping” event meant to jump-start fall retail sales across the country. [Racked]

Across the country today, a lot people called out of work, not because they’re sick, but because they’re queer. It’s A Day Without A Gay! This boycott hopes to show the gay community’s strength in the face of Prop 8 and other anti-gay marriage bills that passed back in November.
