Excuse me, Melissa Joan Hart? I know you’re on your way into the premiere of “Frozen” but I really feel like someone should tell you this. You have something on your face. Specifically your forehead. Wait, there’s some around your nose and mouth too. Powdered sugar? Cocaine? Translucent powder? Probably the latter, most likely, though it’s hard to understand how any self-respecting makeup artist could let Melissa leave the house without blending in her makeup, like, at all. Ahh well, at least the theater was dark.
We may think celebrities are always picture perfect, but every once in a while we see behind the curtain — especially when those bright bulbs are flashing on the red carpet. Makeup is required. More specifically, powder. But it’s a delicate balance. Too much and your favorite celeb may look like a clown, too little and they’re shinier than an oil slick. Click through to see some very unfortunate celebrity powder mishaps.
“[Britney] was young and I could see the stress on her face. I was like, ‘Do you want to go to lunch?’ and she was like, ‘Yes, yes. Let’s go to lunch,’ and then someone behind her would go, ‘No, no, no. You have interviews you have to go to vocal coaching, you have to go to the gym and then you have to go on your tour.’ And she was like, ‘Okay, maybe later.’ And I was like, ‘Let’s go to dinner tonight.’
So I went to her hotel and I invited her to come out with me and we went to a club. She was underage so I snuck her in the back door and we did a little dancing and then people sort of swarmed on top of her and then she got stuck at a table hanging out with people, chit chatting and I was like, ‘I’ve got to go to work tomorrow can I go?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, go I am good. They will get me home.’”
– Melissa Joan Hart, AKA Clarissa Darling and Sabrina Spellman, who is currently on a media blitz to promote her new memoir, Melissa Explains It All, shared this slightly disturbing little anecdote on Bethenny Frankel’s talk show this week. Hart, now 37, is 6 years older than Spears and apparently the two became pretty close friends in the mid 90s (although hello, Girl Code clearly states that you should never leave your underage friend with random people at a nightclub). MJH also revealed that she once made out with Nick Carter in a hotel room, and that she never found James Van Der Beek attractive. So there you go. [Daily Mail]
Happy unbirthday! (Unless of course it is actually your birthday.) TeenNick has announced that they will be bringing back some of our favorite TV shows involving plaid in a new programming block that will air nightly from midnight to 2 a.m. called “The ’90s Are All That.” The series in the block that has us most excited, naturally, is “Clarissa Explains It All,” the show where Melissa Joan Hart navigated wacky parents, a megalomaniacal brother and a crush on her skater neighbor, Sam, all while looking amazing in brightly colored DIY outfits. But we’re also pumped for “The Adventures of Pete and Pete,” the show about two brothers with the same name which featured the coolest tattoo on an underage character ever—Pete’s dancing mermaid. Oh, and “All That” will be returning too, which means we can scope Nick Cannon way before he met Mariah. In other words, sleepless nights just got a little less dismal. [EW] Keep reading »
