Slumber parties from my past always included as many crying jags, jabbing insults, hurtful gossip, and broken friendships as they did romantic comedies and popcorn balls. So is it any surprise the people who are most aggressively pushing for the immediate downfall of Sarah Palin are other women? Video Games: Chick Flicks Get Played
The triumvirate of teen queen movies: Pretty In Pink, Mean Girls, and Clueless — are all getting remade into Broadway musicals. Sike! Although we’re sure some of the score will be watered down into electronic bleeps, they’re actually turning the dramas into full on games. Paramount Pictures, who owns all the movies, is creating digital downloads and low-cost “casual” ones for consoles like Wii, Playstation, and eventually Nintendo DS. Catfights On TV: Strategies Of A Queen Bee
On Friday, I did indeed watch Queen Bees on the N, like I promised. And boy do I have to say that it was everything the network had promised. Cat fights. Lies. And diva-tude, galore. I usually get annoyed when producers release the first 10 minutes of a show because when the show actually airs, only half of it is new content. I was pleasantly surprised, however, to learn that Bees was a whole hour long, so I settled in for an extended romp with mindless television. Alert: Queen Bees Attacking Tonight
The N Network has a new show, Queen Bees, premiering tonight at 9 p.m., and I’m not ashamed to admit that my Friday night is looking up. The show is not about nature, but does feature queen bees, or biyatches, in their natural, swanky habitat. Host Yoanna House (America’s Next Top Model, Cycle Two) will try to change these self-described mean girls, who were nominated by family and friends, into nice girls by giving them soul-bettering tasks, and whoever shows the most growth wins $25,000. Over the past few years Hummer limos, tuxedo rentals, and candy-colored ball gowns have been selling/renting like hot cakes across the country. Girls Who Think They’re Hot Are More Likely To Be Bullied
According to a study of 2,300 students ages 12 to 18, girls who viewed themselves as attractive had a 35 percent higher chance of being involved in emotionally damaging scenarios, i.e., receiving hurtful anonymous notes, being socially excluded, or having rumors spread about them.
