Marion Cotillard is my consummate object of envy. Ethereal beauty? Check. Ridiculously handsome actor-director beau? Check. Radiant talent in strong, incredible roles, even portraying Edith Piaf herself? Check. Tack on the fact that she’s about as Gallic as they come and there you have it. My beauty-crazed, Francophile self is utterly enraptured by Marion. For an Italian Vanity Fair cover in 2010, she was photographed by Bruce Weber with her face essentially untouched by excessive studio makeup or Photoshopping. Yes, Marion went au naturel on a Vanity Fair cover and was no worse for it. That’s because she has what has to be the most flawless skin ever possessed by a human being. Keep reading »

It’s hard being an in-demand celebrity. Ask Marion Cotillard, who plays actress Margaux in this short clip for Dior directed by John Cameron Mitchell. Margaux’s managers are driving her crazy and the photographer on her fashion shoot is pushing her to the brink, so she does what any woman on the verge of nervous breakdown might do — has a fashion fit. Marion Cotillard On Vanity Fair Sans Retouching

Some say French beauty Marion Cotillard looks tired and haggard without retouching on the cover of Vanity Fair, but I think she looks like a real beauty with a real sense of vulnerability. Peep the photos from her spread inside the mag and let us know what you think of Marion without the power of Photoshop. [Fashion Indie] Keep reading »

David Lynch And Dior Bring You “Lady Blue Shanghai”

There’s some inexplicable draw to these Dior film noir-esque shorts, despite their epically awful scenarios. But maybe it’s just that—you have to watch because you keep thinking, Can it get any worse? In the latest installment, David Lynch directs Marion Cotillard in a hazy mystery set in Shanghai. Marion comes back to her hotel room to find a Dior bag spewing smoke and calls down to the desk to have an employee make sure there’s no one in her room. Two men, who were apparently not outfitted with microphones because you can hardly hear their muffled voices, tell her, “It is a very beautiful bag.” What follows is a weird, low-budget dream sequence that looks like a Lifetime movie reenactment of an LSD trip. But wait—did Lynch purposefully make this film so cheesy and amateur-ish to test our perceptions of art? Crap, now we’re confused. [LadyDior.com] Keep reading »

Marion Cotillard’s Take On Rockabilly Hair

For last night’s party in Cannes celebrating fancy jewelry company Chopard’s 150th anniversary, Marion Cotillard paired a metallic jumpsuit with a French twist that wound its way up her head, ending in a bang-like bun. What do you think of Marion’s rockabilly hairdo? I think the front part resembles a croissant or some other delicious French pastry. Keep reading »

Marion Cotillard’s Shangai Surprise

Does anyone here know what a “Shangai Surprise” is anyway? (I’m aware that Google exists, but I’m feeling lazy.) Regardless, how gorgeous does Miss Cotillard look against the skyline of the city as Lady Blue, the third incarnation of her seriously epic Dior campaign? [Lady Dior] Keep reading »

Marion Cotillard Is One Jalouse Bitch

Maid Marion strikes again! Miss Cotillard is having quite the moment lately, getting greased up last month for the cover of Another magazine, and now gracing the front page of French fashion rag Jalouse.

But that’s not all—the latest installment of the Lady Dior video series is out, which puts Marion in obscure film noir mini-dramas. “Lady Rouge” is truly a must-watch because of its corny randomness. First, the actress is filmed talking to a mystery man (“I saw her!”) while sexily stroking her legs. Next, Cotillard is singing a truly awful power ballad, and then somehow transforms into a scary, scary man from “The Matrix.” Uh, what? See for yourself after the jump. [Jalouse] Keep reading »
