Michelle Williams plays Marilyn Monroe in the upcoming flick, “My Week With Marilyn,” and so Vogue naturally had her pose in character for their October issue. “I’d go to bed every night with a stack of books next to me,” she says, explaining how she prepared for the role. “I’d fall asleep to movies of her. It was like when you were a kid and you’d put a book under your pillow hoping you’d get it by osmosis.” Wow, I have to say that Michelle does look so much like Marilyn between the hair, the lips, the body, and the stance. The New York Film Festival announced that the new Marilyn Monroe biopic “My Week With Marilyn,” which follows a production assistant’s week on set with the icon right after tying the knot with Arthur Miller, will get top billing at the festival this year. The festival’s head of programming changed the schedule, moving the film to the opening slot after seeing Michelle Williams‘ performance. “After seeing Marilyn Monroe so often portrayed in films as a caricature, it is a pleasure to see this complex personality and unique on-screen presence portrayed so well by such a talented actress as Michelle Williams,” he said. The coveted centerpiece slot is often a predictor of a future Oscar nomination. I wouldn’t be surprised if the lovely and talented Michelle were headed that way. I get that Marilyn Monroe was like the biggest sex symbol of all time. But how obsessed with her would you have to be to want to buy her chest x-ray? Seems creepy to me, but the auction house manager charged with selling her 1954 x-ray is confident that people will want this “ultimate look into the legend.” Yeah, that doesn’t sound stalkerish at all. In fact, he thinks this chest x-ray, taken while she was undergoing treatment for endometriosis, will bring in at least $1,200. Not me said the flea—I don’t want a dead woman’s x-ray in my house.
