Irina Shayk Poses Naked For Marc Jacobs

Now you can have a gorgeous naked woman on you anytime you want: a naked Irina Shayk is on a T-shirt. The Sports Illustrated‘s swimsuit cover girl posed nude for Marc Jacobs’ “Protect The Skin You’re In” campaign with her hands over her breasts and the copy across her bum. Proceeds from the naked Irina Shayk tees will go towards the NYU Cancer Institute. Model Bar Refaeli will also appear pose nude on shirts for the cause and tweeted pics of her T — naked butt! — on Thursday. You can snag a T at any of the Marc Jacobs stores nationwide. Is Re-Releasing Collections Lazy Or Awesome?

So it would seem that the biggest trend in retailing since the designer collaboration is the re-release. In the past few weeks we’ve heard of three major brands doing replays of past collections. Target is coming out with a “greatest hits” range from previous Go International lines while Marni and Marc by Marc Jacobs have also announced that they’ll be re-creating “vintage” styles. This can sort of be seen as a type of eBay—except the prices aren’t any lower. They’re maybe even higher. Keep reading »

Do Not Want: Marc by Marc Jacobs Slouchy (AKA “Mom”) Jeans

We’ll spare Obama in this discussion about Mom jeans, but Marc Jacobs is definitely not off the hook. C’mon, Marc: What’s up with these “lightweight slouchy” jeans? Don’t tell us you’ve got some very sensible tennis shoes and fanny packs to match? [Shopbop] Keep reading »

Marc Jacobs Does Back To School, Too

Here’s a guaranteed way to secure your place as the coolest kid in school: Show up the first day with designer supplies by Marc Jacobs (watch out, Lisa Frank). Following the launch of his bookstore in NYC’s West Village (adorably named Bookmarc), MJ has created a small collection of back-to-school supplies in a similar bookish theme. Stock your desk with colored pencils, notebook-like storage tins, or even Marc Jacobs-branded Sharpies. Better yet, get the whole kit ‘n kaboodle with one of the pouches pre-filled with colorful pencils, pens, paper clips, erasers, and other note-taking accoutrement. Luckily, the prices aren’t that outlandish. The kits are $11-17, a plastic case with mini-colored pencils is $8, and a simple pack of red pencils is $9, which, OK is a lot to pay for pencils. But, small change for all the Gossip Girls out there.

Anna Wintour Educates Jimmy Fallon On Fashion’s Night Out: “No Sales!”

Anna Wintour and Marc Jacobs stayed up past their bedtimes last night (well, maybe just Anna) to talk about Fashion’s Night Out on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” The best part is when Jimmy asks Anna a bit about FNO, saying, “So the stores stay open and you have, like, sales?” To which Anna responds, “No sales! Full price!” Marc chimes in, “Things are for sale, they’re not on sale.” Classic. It’s at the end when Wintour attempts a weird joke about Fallon, Jacobs, and bananas that we get lost. A Neighbor Has It Out For Marc Jacobs

As someone who has a habit of complaining about noise and neighborhood nuisances to anyone who is paid to listen (basically 311 if you know NYC), I can understand this neighbor’s frustration with the chaotic happenings at the Marc by Marc Jacobs Accessories store. But if the store is such a problem in the West Village, wouldn’t the neighbors already know what channels to go through? It might just be time to set up a neighborhood watch task force. Quotable: Marc Jacobs Explains Why He Was Naked For Bang Ad

“I’m not Tom Ford in terms of the grooming and the knowledge of clothes and the precision and perfection of getting dressed. There’s nothing I can wear in this ad that isn’t going to look ridiculous. At one point, I tried jeans and a shirt, and it didn’t work. So then Juergen said, ‘Take off the clothes. So I did, and that became the ad … I did feel good about the way I looked, so it was easy and—well, a guy looks better to me with no clothes on than with clothes! How’s that?”

A Cute Pochette For The Bare Necessities

When all you need is enough purse to hold some cash and lip gloss, leave your duffel bag-sized tote behind and pick up a pochette. (It’s like a clutch, but even tinier and, thus, more adorable.) Pochettes are our go-to toters for a night out, and this Marc by Marc Jacobs checkered one is our new favorite. You really can’t beat the classic color combo and the relative lack of logo-ing.
