It’s not every day that we test products for men here at The Frisky. But Bang is Marc Jacobs‘ first masculine fragrance in almost 10 years, so I had to jump at the chance. Model Tanning FAIL

At first, we kind of thought that these three lovelies were dead. Then we looked more closely at the clothes and realized that there was nary a sign of struggle or dragging in sight. All we can really take from this bizarre Marc Jacobs fall ’10 ad campaign is that they don’t realize that tanning doesn’t work when you wear a winter jacket. Silly models. Quotable: Marc Jacobs Takes A Brain Vacation With The “Jersey Shore”

“Recently I watched every episode of ‘Jersey Shore”s first season. I don’t know if it was any good and I certainly didn’t learn anything, but it was definitely hypnotic and it gave my brain a vacation.”

Marc Jacobs on his “appreciation” for a certain reality TV show. Let’s hope this means we’ll never see one of the cast members fist-pumping in the front row at his show. [New York] Keep reading »

Would You Go Blue?

Last time I checked, having blue hair was a sure indication that you’ve passed the prime moments in your life and have officially hit old age. However, pop stars and designers are looking to change those preconceived notions, and now, with their approval, blue hair is all the rage. Marc Jacobs started it off a few years ago, as he dyed his dark hair a hue of electric blue; then Katy Perry took the stage to perform “California Gurls” at the MTV Movie Awards in a vivid blue wig. To round out the trend, Juliette Lewis appeared during a performance in London with a few blue highlights, perfectly matching her Ray-Bans. And, of course, our own Kate has been rocking a rad blue streak in her hair for years. So, what do you say — would you go blue? [Telegraph] Keep reading »

Behind The Scenes Of The Louis Vuitton 2010 Fall/Winter Campaign

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Louis Vuitton campaign for fall/winter 2010, featuring Christy Turlington, Karen Elson, and Natalia Vodianova — or, as Marc Jacobs calls them, “three of the most beautiful women, I think, in the world.” The ladies pose for photographer Steven Klein in a faux dressing room done up in old-school Hollywood glamour. There’s lots of ’50s ponytails, retro-dresses, and, of course, bags, bags, and more bags. It’s definitely a return to tailored femininity; punk rock, it ain’t. Makeup artist extraordinaire Pat McGrath makes a cameo. It’s all very pretty-pretty and perfect for those among you who consider yourselves girlie girls. Keep reading »

Lorenzo Martone Tries His Hand At Swimwear

Marc Jacobs seems to be rubbing off on his adorable significant other, Lorenzo Martone, who’s decided to give clothing design a shot. Having spent years working on fashion brands at advertising agency Chandelier Creative, Martone’s no stranger to style and creativity, but the swimwear line he’s creating with jewelry designer Jules Kim is his first go at designing. The label, Nycked, is said to be inspired by Brazil, and it allegedly involves sequins, lacing, and rather large bows. Pics aren’t out yet, but we’re curious to see where this goes.
