Mango, the Spanish retailer which, somewhat recently, set up shop in the US, also has an awesome website for online shoppers. Their summer collection is bright, flattering, and so affordable that we had really tough time narrowing it down to just 10 pieces for less than $50. Click through to check out our picks!
Kate Moss has long been the poster girl for anything and everything that’s glamorous, rebellious, lavish, and drenched in cigarette smoke. Her numerous turns as an actual poster girl are no less noteworthy. Whether you love or hate Kate (I love), her iconic face is inescapable season after season. Spanish retailer Mango has tapped both Kate and her friend Terry Richardson for the chain’s spring 2012 print campaign. If you recall, the model and the infamous photographer previously collaborated on this promotional video for Mango’s autumn runway show last year. This is a huge score for Mango, who has been fronted in the past by such stars as Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz, because snagging Kate Moss as the face of an ad campaign lures in a whole new, previously untapped demographic: those, like me, who will unabashedly sign on for (almost) anything she shills. This digital printed T-shirt by MNG by Mango is phenomenal for three reasons: It features a laser-cut yoke and appliqué, which are sexy in a nude color; the print is pretty and dark at the same time, with ultra-realistic birds, snakes, and butterflies; it is reminiscent of the late Alexander McQueen. We can picture this Tee being worn with a black tuxedo blazer, leather shorts, a pair of crochet stockings, and chunky platforms for a night out. Or switch the bottoms for a pair of dark skinny jeans and gold ballets and you are set for the work day. All in all: a great statement piece to wear anytime!
There has been a lot of buzz for JCPenney and Mango’s collaboration called MNG by Mango because the Spanish brand is known for its affordable runway fashions. MNG by Mango will offer customers a shop-within-a-shop experience that’s more in line with a small boutique than a major department store. But for those that like to do their shopping from their desks, MNG by Mango is also available at JCPenney’s website. I took a look and instantly fell in love with several of the clothes. Check out what’s on my fall wish list and let me know what you like also. Keep reading »

Scarlett Johansson is the latest celeb to hop on the designs-for-Haiti bandwagon. ScarJo was able to quickly contribute to the cause thanks to her position as a Mango campaign girl and Oxfam ambassador. The result of her efforts: a tote bag design (available Mar. 1) that features an old-fashioned map of Haiti. No need to worry if your purchase profits are being diluted by the fashion corporation: 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Oxfam’s relief fund. [LA Times] Keep reading »
