It’s new release Tuesday, so it’s time to take the latest tunes for a spin. After the jump, Mandy Moore gets back to basics by embracing her real name. Phoenix rises again. Grizzly Bear proves for once and for all that they’re ladykillers. And Jenny Owen Youngs shows girly music can be the dopest.

Mandy Moore is a whole new woman these days. Not only is she a newlywed (her husband is musician Ryan Adams), but she has an album coming out May 26. The video for her first single, “I Could Break Your Heart Any Day of The Week,” is out, and after watching it, we’ll be very interested in hear her other new songs. While Mandy was über pop-tastic back in her early days, her last album, Wild Hope, was very folksy and more our speed. Has she gone back to a more “Candy”-like style, or has Ryan had an influence on her sound? I guess we’ll find out when Amanda Leigh hits stores next month.

We’re pretty used to men’s magazines and media outlets celebrating the world’s most beautiful women—from Maxim‘s Hot 100 to AskMen.com’s upcoming Top 99 Most Desirable Women—but Spike.com has decided to go with a much more negative approach. I have a total thing for Mandy Moore that is not very easily explained. She’s no superstar in any department, though I think she’s a decent actress and singer (frankly, I loved her album of cover songs). But something about her seems nice and smart and she’s definitely stylish, which is why we’ve pulled together a slideshow of some of her hottest looks.
