Mila Kunis had a very good year. Besides starring opposite Justin Timberlake in “Friends With Benefits,” Kunis was the top-selling cover girl for GQ magazine this year. Other super successful cover ladies? Sarah Jessica Parker, Heidi Klum and Jennifer Aniston. The triumvirate of blonds were top sellers for ElleVogue, and Marie Claire. In fact, Aniston had the top-selling cover for Marie Claire with her July cover. Surprisingly missing from this year’s top performing list — Lady Gaga, who covered almost all of 2010′s most successful magazine issues.

Not that Gaga didn’t do well …

Posing 101: 13 Celebs Go Topless With Only Hands As Shields

If you’re a celeb or model posing topless on the cover of a “respectable” magazine, you’ve got to find a way to cover the naughty bits. Behold, one of the more popular magazine cover poses — the breast cupping. It’s a pose that says, “I’m topless! But you still can’t see my nipples! Mysterious.” Kathy Griffin had Jesse Tyler Ferguson do the honors on the cover of the latest issue of Out Magazine. Of course, she is paying homage to Janet Jackson’s 1983 cover or Rolling Stone. Here are 12 more celebs who’ve done the pose proud. [ONTD]

Ryan Reynolds Sports A Tattoo Of … Himself

This week’s Entertainment Weekly cover story is titled “Why I’m Obsessed With Ryan Reynolds, By Ryan Reynolds.” So fittingly, Ryan posed for the cover sporting a fake tattoo on his bicep of his own face. The story inside is just as entertaining. “[Ryan] spent a great deal of time with his older brothers and, in turn, his brothers were very close to him. Usually within striking distance,” he writes. Later, in a paragraph about living green, Ryan says, “Reynolds is also careful not to get too self-righteous, and is not one of those finger-wagging celebrities telling you how to live your life. He prefers to put the word out quietly, through the exciting mediums of interpretive dance and Japanese hand fans.” Cute. [EW] Keep reading »

Jason Bateman Gets Buried In The Sand

Happy Memorial Day! Behold, the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly. It is basically everything I want on this holiday—the beach and Jason Bateman. EW has dubbed Jason the official “Boy of Summer 2011″ since he has two movies coming out in rapid succession—”Horrible Bosses” and “The Change-Up,” co-starring Ryan Gosling. Personally, I love that Jason agreed to get buried in the sand for this shoot. But man do I wish EW had used their alternate cover, in the inset, as the main one. So cute. Plus, it makes me want a sandcastle hat. [EW] Keep reading »

Lady Gaga Rocks Bleached Eyebrows On The Cover Of Rolling Stone

For a Lady Gaga magazine cover, the image that fronts the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone is pretty simple—there’s no bubbles, machine gun bras, or excessive diamonte. However, Gaga still looks so … strange. It took me a few minutes of staring to figure out what seems so off here, but it finally hit me: Gaga has bleached her eyebrows to match her skin color. To me, this is an argument for how important eyebrows are in framing your face. But what do you think—are you liking the eyebrowless look? Keep reading »

Zach Galifianakis Knows What Is Wrong With Our World

“The world has never been more screwed up than it is right now. Except maybe during the wonder years. I think it all started with Fred Savage and that whole thing he did with Savage Garden… Technology is also overrated. It’s making our society less private. Like, I would advise people that while it’s okay to tweet about your paper-towel purchase, I really don’t want to know about what shape your stool is in.”

Zach Galifianakis is on the new cover of GQ and inside he waxes philosophic on the state of the world via a series of hilarious fill-in-the-blanks. I hope Fred Savage doesn’t star receiving hate mail over this. I used to have the biggest crush on that guy. [Just Jared] Keep reading »

Rihanna Channels Jessica Rabbit On The Cover Of Vogue

Let’s all take a minute to appreciate how straight-out-of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” Rihanna looks on the April cover of Vogue, peeking out from behind her red hair with just one eye. I think this image is stunning, even if the way she’s holding her body looks like she just stole your watch and is slinking away with it. Keep reading »

Anna’s Dazed & Confused Cover Brings On The Perma-Grin

Is it just us, or does Anna Paquin look kind of creepy on the January cover of Dazed & Confused? Oh wait, Terry Richardson shot it. That might have something to do with it. [StyleBistro] Keep reading »

Who Knew Lady Liberty Had A Hot Bod?

It’s become a reflex to knock the new TSA body scanning procedures, but I think this New Republic does it in the most creative way possible. It’s the Statue of Liberty, as you’ve never seen her. Keep reading »
