Just last week, she debuted the video for “Countdown,” yet this week, she has a new video for the song “Love On Top” — what happened to building suspense? Anyway, Beyonce can’t do anything without paying homage to someone, and this video is no different. Her inspiration comes from a somewhat unlikely place — ’80s boy band New Edition, which was of course fronted by a wee Bobby Brown. “Love On Top” is directly inspired by their video for “If It Isn’t Love,” from the setting (a sun-lit loft space!) to the dance moves. Somewhere out there Whitney Houston is saying “Oh, hell to the no!”
