Jennifer Lawrence was spotted at Heathrow Airport yesterday, in an very incognito trench coat, brimmed hat and sunglasses. Maybe she’s doing promotion for “Silver Linings Playbook,” but I prefer to think she’s in London for a secret rendezvous with zombie ex-boyfriend (and native Brit) Nicholas Hoult. Normally, I would be super annoyed with another lady landing my celebrity crush, but J.Law just seems super cool and down to earth, and me, Anonymous Regular Citizen Person, feels strangely invested in her happiness. Maybe I’m a stalker? In any case, my love for Lawrence is not blind — I’m not crazy about this stupid purple fedora. But what do you think?

I hate to hate anything even remotely associated with the goddess Cate Blanchett, but this shiny, stiff-looking Armani Privé dress is testing the limits of her sartorial perfection. It’s like what an off-duty superhero would wear to a red carpet event, all latex-y and, like, “Hey, I may or may not be fighting crime and defending the city after dinner.” So it’s badass, of course, but is it cute? Do we like it? Does Cate get a free pass, just because she’s Cate? Probably.

Kate Bosworth showed up at Sundance to promote her starring role in the new film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s autobiographical novel Big Sur, directed by her fiancé Michael Polish. They certainly chose an odd time to release a Kerouac movie, what with that other one coming out and all. I’m curious to see if Polish’s version features any topless double handjobs. Anyway, Kate wore this leathery retro go-go getup to the premiere. The lady looks good in pretty much everything, and while this outfit is definitely very adventurous, I think it’s slightly too literal to be a hit. It could’ve used some contemporary updates to bring it back down to earth circa 2013. What say you?

Hippie mama Drew Barrymore appeared on “Good Morning America” in this flowy bohemian outfit to promote her new makeup line, “Flower” (which Jessica is already obsessed with–stay tuned for a Beauty Test Drive!). I really like the pleated skirt paired with ankle boots, but that top is way too shapeless for my taste. What do you think?

Maria Menounos, breathtakingly gorgeous even while bearing a slight resemblance to Julia Allison, wore this mint green blazer to conduct some “Extra” interviews earlier this week. I really love the color, but in the form of a blazer, it’s tough not to evoke Don Johnson vibes, and it’s definitely more of a summer look in general. What do you think?

Okay, so clearly the show “1600 Penn” looks terrible. Which is weird, because both Bill Pullman and Jenna Elfman are not actualy terrible themselves. And yet the premise of a hokey, silly family in the White House seems just so totally off kilter with the current socio-political reality. But in any case, what are we thinking about this bold, stripe-y coat Elfman wore to the airport the other day? I mean, generally I’m into classic silhouettes in bright shades, but something about this is a bit off to me. Like maybe she stole it out of her mom’s closet or something. Have you guys seen “Django Unchained”? I’m kind of embarrassed that I haven’t yet, but it just requires, like, so much effort to actually plan it and go to the movie theatre, and spending $15 just to sit down and watch something always makes me feel weirdly cheated. I’m the type of person that will spend however much on clothes or makeup and then bitch about the price of a movie, which is actually a really terrible quality now that I think of it. I should address that.

Anyway, “Django Unchained”! Kerry Washington is in it. Here she is at the Berlin premiere in a checkered Louis Vuitton dress (from the same collection as the black and white playsuit Kristen Stewart wore back in October), which she accessorized with a white bow headband and white pumps. Something about the way the dress falls has an “Alice in Wonderland” disproportional effect, like she could either be very large or very small, which is only magnified by the girly (indeed, very Alice-esque) headwear and tiny rectangular clutch. That said, I think I love it. It’s weird and sort of mod, and I am certainly not opposed to “Wonderland” chic. Are you feeling it, or is it a little too artsy for your taste?

Maybe it’s because in high school I had a pair of mustard yellow tights and every time I wore them my dad would point and yell, “JAUNDICE!,” but I always feel a bit hesitant about yellow and orange hosiery. Really, that’s the only thing keeping me from giving Kathy Griffin an enthusiastic “Well Played” for this ensemble. I love the red coat, the oxblood pencil skirt, and even the fun, festive gold heels (she’d just hosted CNN’s New Year’s telecast the night before), and I think it all works together nicely, but the orange-y yellow hose are tripping me up a bit. What say you?

Love It Or Leave It: Is This New Prada Campaign All Flower Power Or Failure?

LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT?

There was a time in the early ’90s when sunflowers were totally ubiquitous. I’m pretty sure TV’s “Blossom” had a terrible sunflower hat, and sunflowers were the ’90s symbol for some kind of whitewashed take on ’60s bohemianism. So perhaps that’s why I’m not super into the new ads from Prada, featuring supermodels Amber Valletta and Eva Herzigova. There’s so many hateable things about these shots: Firstly, the clothes; second, the styling of Amber’s shoes. And then there’s the tiny fringe somebody put on beautiful Eva Herzigova. Why would you do that to her? Plus, the color palette and makeup seems so purposefully drab. But I don’t know, maybe I’m missing something. Maybe this campaign is actually brilliant and gorgeous and it’s just my janky perspective that’s ruining things. What do you think?

This Stella McCartney dress is so typical of the designer in that at first glance it’s totally fine, even good, but upon further inspection something is just off. And once you see it there’s no turning back. For me, it’s the proportions — the fitted suit-like top becomes a big, tulip-shaped (faux leather) balloon skirt with a seriously awkward length that makes Naomi Watts seem like she has a normal-sized torso and the legs of a munchkin. I can’t pinpoint it, but there is something about the unflattering below-the-knee cut and ankle booties that I find very unsettling. I mean, Naomi looks amazing, and she’s wearing the look as well as it can be worn, but there is something fundamentally wrong at play here. What do you think?
