Lily Allen’s Dad Made Conspiracy Theory Film About Princess Diana’s Death

Awhile ago, Lily Allen took to Twitter in a huff to complain she was not invited to the royal wedding, but it’s probably just as well. See, Lily Allen’s father, the comedian Keith Allen, produced and directed a conspiracy theory “documentary” called “Unlawful Killing” that alleges Prince Charles and the rest of the royal family were behind Princess Diana‘s death. Okay then! In “Unlawful Killing,” Princess Diana is reportedly heard on audio, telling someone on the phone, “If you’re a strong woman in my environment, you’re a problem. I’m a Hell of a problem. … [I have] no time for hobbies. Keeping alive is one of them.” OMG THAT TOTALLY PROVES CHARLES HAD HER KILLED. Just kidding. While I love a good conspiracy theory, the idea that Princess Diana was murdered by the royal family instead of killed by, you know, the drunk driver behind the wheel of her car seems pretty distasteful. Curious, though, that this is a subject near and dear to Keith Allen’s heart. “Unlawful Killing” has been banned in the UK and is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival later this year. It was probably a good idea to sit Prince William‘s wedding out, Lily. [ONTD, RadarOnline] Keep reading »

Lily Allen Used To Be Bulimic

“I used to vomit after meals. It’s not something I’m proud of. But, I tell you what, a lot of people came up to me telling me how great I looked and I’d be on the cover of every magazine. I thought I looked good and it was great to be able to try on clothes and feel a million dollars. But I wasn’t happy, I really wasn’t. I would love to be the skinniest minniest person in the world but I can’t do that without being unhappy — I like food. I’m a pop star, not a model. Don’t make me feel s**t for not being really skinny and having an eating disorder.”

Lily Allen opened up on her forthcoming British docu-reality show, “Lily Allen: Rags To Riches” that she used to have an unhealthy relationship with food. I knew there had to be something more to that song, “Everything’s Just Wonderful,” where she sings, “I wanna be able to eat spaghetti Bolognese / And not feel bad about it for days and days and days.” I’m glad you’re recovering, Lily! Why We Appreciate Celebrity Women For Opening Up About Miscarriages

I was very sad to read over the weekend that Lily Allen had a miscarriage six months into her pregnancy. Apparently, she felt stomach pains on Thursday and was rushed to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save the baby. Her rep put out a short and sweet statement: “It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby. The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time.”

We feel especially terrible for Lily because this is the second time she has miscarried. Keep reading »

Quotable: Lily Allen Has Had A Rough Pregnancy

“I came off the pill and, weirdly, a week later [I got pregnant]. But then it was really difficult, I had complications. I had about a week and a half of really heavy bleeding and had to have lots of scans … I’ve been living in fear for the past three months.”

Lily Allen tells the Sunday Times about a scare she had early in her pregnancy. Understandable that she’d be freaked out, considering that she had a miscarriage in 2008. Here’s hoping Lily’s baby stays healthy. Even if she won’t be telling her child that she was once a pop star. [People] Keep reading »

Lily Allen Launches Vintage Shop, “Lucy In Disguise”

While she’s knocked up, Lily Allen is taking a break from the limelight (sort of) to open a vintage boutique with her sister, Sarah, which they’re calling Lucy in Disguise. The girls’ London shop isn’t quite ready to open yet (it will open later this month), so in the meantime, they’ve set up a pop-up boutique in Selfridges to give the public a taste of what’s to come. Bridget Jones’s Diary: The Musical!?

First, Bridget Jones’s Diary was a book. Then it was a movie. Then another movie. And, as rumor has it, another movie. We started shaking our heads when we heard about a possible Bridget Jones TV show. And now, alas, it’s going to be a musical. There’s no word yet on who will be playing Bridget—Renée Zellweger did prove she can sing in “Chicago.” We do know, however, that Lily Allen is doing music for the show. Plus, the director and choreographer of “Billy Elliot,” Stephen Daldry and Peter Darling, are also on board. The musical is in the workshop stage and could open in London’s West End as early as next year. Would you go see it if you took a trip across the pond? [NYMag.com] Keep reading »

Meet Fashion’s Newest Reality TV Star — Lily Allen

Move over Whitney Port, there’s a new fashion diva in town. Former music star Lily Allen is putting away her lyrics and microphone for a career in the fashion world, but she’s not content to just work in fashion. She wants to show off the drama of her life to the world — reality TV-style. As part of her new plan to open a boutique called Lucy In Disguise, Lily’s signed on with Channel 4 to star in a reality TV show displaying the ups and downs of her new career path. Beginning early next year, fans will have the opportunity to watch as Lily learns just what it takes to work in fashion and all about the hard work required to open a store. Lily and her sister are working together on the boutique, and if the Kardashian girls have taught us anything, it’s that sibling drama is a whole other situation. Sure, LC and Heidi provide endless entertainment, but Khloe and Kourtney have that nagging behavior that only comes from years and years of sisterly togetherness. Will you watch? “People in this day and age are still under the illusion that every woman who is successful must be being controlled by a man… I’m the boss.”

Which Decade Would You Want To Represent?

Lily Allen has announced that she’s abandoning her music career, a least for a bit, to launch a vintage clothing fashion venture. “Lucy in Disguise,” as it will be called, will launch this August at Vintage at Goodwood, a new music and fashion festival in England. Here, she and some friends show off styles spanning from the 1940s to the 1980s. [2/25/10, West Sussex, Telegraph] Keep reading »
