As popular and critically acclaimed as HBO’s “Girls” may be, chances are we won’t get to see Hannah, Marnie, Shoshanna and Jessa doing whatever it is they’d be doing in their golden years. But, say, what do you think they would be doing? This video does a pretty good job imagining what season 38 of the show would be like — exactly the same, but with more bunions. [YouTube]
You know you’ve made it when a porn star earns a paycheck off her likeness to you — so, congratulations Lena Dunham! “This Ain’t Girls XXX” stars the Hannah character breaking up with her boyfriend Adam to dabble with women (of course). Like the real “Girls,” the parody porn includes includes “mild BDSM,” including “dirty talk and rough sex” with a ballgag. And just like real “Girls,” the sex scenes get cringe-inducingly awkward. “I tried to make it as weird as possible,” Richie Calhoun, the actor who plays Adam, told the porn news site XBIZ. “I tried to say really weird things and do really weird positions.” Why it took as long as it did for “Girls” to get its own parody porn from Hustler will be the mystery of our generation. Or a mystery of a generation. [XBiz]
It should come as no surprise that for all the obsessing we do about Ryan Gosling, baby pandas, Grumpy Cat, Karl Lagerfeld, Chavril and the endless array of Be My Boyfriend candidates, The Frisky is most inspired by the work of the many rad women we look up to. There are so many pop culture heavyweights and high-powered newsmakers who show us how its done and inspire us with their achievements every day. Naturally, of course, we each have our favorites. With that in mind, each Frisky staff member was tasked with choosing and submitting their favorite rad and inspiring woman — okay, a few of us got to pick two — for nomination, along with a photo of herself and a blurb about why they chose the woman they did.
And now we want you to vote for your favorite of the 10 women we’ve chosen.
The poll will remain open for two weeks — until April 22 — and, at that time, the woman with the most votes will become, effectively, our Rad & Inspiring Woman of the Year.
So what do you say? Will you tell us who you love, too? Vote now! Keep reading »
“I never chalk up anything to the gender divide and say ‘Well, that’s just a male thing.’ I hate the conventional wisdom that men are supposedly complete pieces of shit and it’s our job as women to put up with them. Men are just as sensitive and easily victimized as women are, but there’s not as much of an infrastructure for expressing it. That drives me nuts. We’re all humans and doing human stuff. We’d have a better world if everyone had someone they could pay for talk therapy.”
– Lena Dunham sat down to answer 20 questions in the latest issue of Playboy and had some insightful things to say about men, feminism, and learning the birds and the bees. God, do I agree with her on this one — if everyone could just have access to a little therapy, even people who think they don’t need it, we’d all be better off, because we’d be addressing our shit instead of taking it out on other people — our friends, our families, the people we date, etc. When I become President, it’ll be free therapy for everyone! Hurrah! Anyway, click on to read some more choice quotes from Dunham’s Playboy interview… Keep reading »
God love her, but Lena Dunham has a particular way about her. Which is why Chelsea Davison’s spot-on impersonation of Dunham auditioning for the movie “Zero Dark Thirty” is so hilarious. “You know,” says Davidson’s Dunham, “if I actually have to waterboard you, that is really going to scar me, like, emotionally.” [YouTube]
