“I always hope that I’ll know when I no longer need to show my breasts for good. Like I’ll know when to pack it in and put a bra on. That is my prayer to the universe. But then, maybe it will be really important that I do it when I’m 60. Who knows? I don’t think I’d be able to do this and put myself in all these situations on camera that are kind of humiliating and uncomfortable. Nobody wants to sit there doggy-style for ten hours while they shoot or whatever. It’s not sexy or glamorous. I don’t think I’d be able to do that if I didn’t think it was essentially important in my contribution to the world.”
–Lena Dunham shares her prayer to the universe in the latest issue of Marie Claire UK. Like a good houseguest, she hopes she’ll know when it’s time for her boobs to go home. For the time being, she’ll continue contributing her breasts to the world on “Girls.” [3News]
As popular and critically acclaimed as HBO’s “Girls” may be, chances are we won’t get to see Hannah, Marnie, Shoshanna and Jessa doing whatever it is they’d be doing in their golden years. But, say, what do you think they would be doing? This video does a pretty good job imagining what season 38 of the show would be like — exactly the same, but with more bunions. [YouTube]
You know you’ve made it when a porn star earns a paycheck off her likeness to you — so, congratulations Lena Dunham! “This Ain’t Girls XXX” stars the Hannah character breaking up with her boyfriend Adam to dabble with women (of course). Like the real “Girls,” the parody porn includes includes “mild BDSM,” including “dirty talk and rough sex” with a ballgag. And just like real “Girls,” the sex scenes get cringe-inducingly awkward. “I tried to make it as weird as possible,” Richie Calhoun, the actor who plays Adam, told the porn news site XBIZ. “I tried to say really weird things and do really weird positions.” Why it took as long as it did for “Girls” to get its own parody porn from Hustler will be the mystery of our generation. Or a mystery of a generation. [XBiz]
It should come as no surprise that for all the obsessing we do about Ryan Gosling, baby pandas, Grumpy Cat, Karl Lagerfeld, Chavril and the endless array of Be My Boyfriend candidates, The Frisky is most inspired by the work of the many rad women we look up to. There are so many pop culture heavyweights and high-powered newsmakers who show us how its done and inspire us with their achievements every day. Naturally, of course, we each have our favorites. With that in mind, each Frisky staff member was tasked with choosing and submitting their favorite rad and inspiring woman — okay, a few of us got to pick two — for nomination, along with a photo of herself and a blurb about why they chose the woman they did.
And now we want you to vote for your favorite of the 10 women we’ve chosen.
The poll will remain open for two weeks — until April 22 — and, at that time, the woman with the most votes will become, effectively, our Rad & Inspiring Woman of the Year.
So what do you say? Will you tell us who you love, too? Vote now! Keep reading »
