You know who definitely does not need a memoir? Lea Michele. And yet! Harmony Books, a Random House division, disagrees. That’s right: Brunette Ambition, the “Glee” actress’s “part memoir, part how-to and part style guide,” will hit shelves next spring. For a while they were out and about, showing off on Broadway every night, then they came to L.A. and were like, ‘No one else looks like me here!’ They were nervous to make their appearance but feel they’ve earned their place. Normally I think Lea Michele can be sort of insufferable (mostly because she was once rude to my friend at an audition, like, five years ago) but I have decided that I like anyone who refers to her breasts as “prizewinners” and gabs about them at length. Yesterday, Ryan Murphy announced that, after the upcoming season, he’d be letting three of the principal characters of “Glee” go: Lea Michele (Rachel Berry), Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson), and Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel). The reasoning? They would be graduating from McKinley High, and Murphy wants to keep the show true to life and not have students stick around for eight years. But apparently, these dismissals were news to the actors. Chris Colfer—who was just nommed for an Emmy for the show—said he found out via Twitter. “I didn’t necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year,” he said. “I don’t necessarily want to leave so soon. But, I mean, it’s fine. It’s what it is. And all things come to an end.” [NY Daily News]

Let’s hope Adele’s ex-boyfriend doesn’t catch wind of this and demand royalties. Last night, “Glee” did a little tribute to Adele. During the episode “Prom Queen,” Rachel Berry came face to face with her ex, Jesse St. James (played by Jonathan Groff), while belting out “Rolling in the Deep.” He naturally joins in, making us wish she’d forget about Finn already.

It’s totally cool that Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Amber Riley are all sharing the May 2011 cover of Marie Claire and getting their own separate individual covers — for one because it annoys me when Lea Michele hogs all the buzz from “Glee,” but because mainstream women’s mags are not exactly known for putting African-American women on the cover. So, yay, for that beautiful Amber Riley cover. However! While I was reading the copy on the different covers, I noticed something wack. Lea and Dianna’s cover lines both read “on the rumors! gossip! drama!”, but Amber’s cover lines are entirely different: “I show girls how to be comfortable with their bodies.” Huh? Don’t get me wrong — I think it’s awesome that Amber Riley gets a cover and that she’s a role model for curvaceous women and girls of all backgrounds.
