12 Festive Looks From Lauren Conrad’s Paper Crown Holiday Collection

Lauren Conrad wears many hats, a few of which I’d prefer she take off. (As a writer, it chaps my hide that she gets a serial book deal.) But one area I think Lauren excels in, besides masterfully wearing braids, is fashion design. I’ve liked a lot of the thing she’s done for her low-priced line for Kohl’s, but it’s her mid-priced line Paper Crown that really makes my closet ache. She just unveiled Paper Crown’s Holiday Collection and I’m totally into the crushed neutral velvet, floral prints, and champagne-colored frocks. Click through to see the full collection, in store

Lauren Conrad’s Peachy New ‘Do

Horrible Haircuts
How these very bad haircuts went down. Read More »

Lauren Conrad is nothing if not loyal to her fans and followers. And so when readers of her beauty site, The Beauty Department voted that she dip-dye her hair a light peachy color, Conrad acquiesced. The result? Peachy keen. What do you think? [Love. Might need to do this. -- Editor] [The Beauty Department]

Lauren Conrad Is Whipping Up A New Venture

Let us take a moment to review the trajectory of Lauren Conrad‘s career. She went from teen reality star, to fashion designer, to novelist. LC has multiple clothing lines, endorsement deals, a beauty website, a fashion book, a regular writing gig, and a series of novels. Seriously, does this girl sleep? Based on the aforementioned list, you’d think she would be too busy to do anything else, like, say, baking. Wrong! In her spare time she loves to whip up cupcakes, cookies, and cakes—so much so that she is planning to open up a fancy bakery in Hollywood. Keep reading »

The Year In Shocking Celebrity Hair Transformations So Far

Women always be changing their hair. It’s a maxim you can set your watch to. And celebrity ladies are no different. In fact, whether it’s for a role, because of a breakup, or simply because their agent told them putting blue streaks in their locks might garner them an extra bit of press (looking at you, Lauren Conrad), famous ladies are just as guilty as the rest of us of making impetuous hair moves. After the jump, we review some of the big hair changers so far this year — women who have gone from long to short, from short to long, from blonde to red and right back again. And don’t forget to tell us whose hair you covet and who you think should probably be sporting a paper bag over their head these days.

Lauren Conrad Gets Punky Streaks

Lauren Conrad has never really been my hair idol. Okay fine, I totally have tried to replicate that braid thingy she does—but other that than, I’ve always found her long, blonde locks a little safe. However, last week on her website TheBeautyDepartment.com, Lauren posted a photo of a woman with multi-colored streaks and asked readers whether she should go for it, too. They voted yes. Awesomely, Lauren did it and is now rocking pink, purple, blue, and green streaks on her tips. Personally, I love the new look. I call it Nuevo My Little Pony. [MTV] Keep reading »

Lauren Conrad Gets Animated In Credits For Her Show That Will Never Be

Lauren Conrad has had cameras following her every move and cutesy glance from ages 18 to 22. It sure looked like she would be continuing the trend when she announced in December that she would be shooting a new reality series for MTV, this time focusing on her fashion moguling. But apparently, MTV has nixed the show. “MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life,” Lauren said. “Sorry MTV didn’t feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it.” Which is code for: no you cannot film me and my boyfriend bickering over the merits of crunchy versus creamy peanut butter. Kudos To Lauren Conrad For Finally Speaking Out About This Dangerous Issue

Here at The Frisky, we devote a large amount of our time to righting the wrongs of the fashion world. But sometimes when we look around and see that things like cargo pants, backwards caps, and sneaker heels still exist, we often feel that our fighting, praying, and pleas fall on deaf ears. Which is why we’re happy to hear that our homegirl Lauren Conrad has joined in the fight against Fashion F**k Ups, or FFUs. Listen to her wise words, and maybe, if we all just try a little harder not to wear Ed Hardy bedazzled shirts (which, honestly, shouldn’t be that hard), the world will be a better place. “The Hills” Are Alive: Lauren Conrad To Do A New Show On MTV

You’ve been going through Lauren Conrad withdrawal ever since she walked away from “The Hills,” right? No? OK, well, then you probably won’t be very excited about the news that Lauren will once again be starring in an MTV reality series. She revealed to Ryan Seacrest on Friday that a new show about her life is in the works—and this time it’ll focus exclusively on her work life as she designs and markets her clothing line. In other words, it will be all the blah of “The Hills” with none of the juiciness. Keep reading »

Lauren Conrad Designing New Clothing Line “With Best Friends”

Lauren Conrad has announced that she’s starting a new clothing line with her best friends. Just to recap: Conrad has already dabbled in the fashion business when she created a line of jersey dresses a few years ago (that tanked) and, more recently, when she teamed up with Kohl’s to do a gently priced daywear collection. (It was cute … but wasn’t a runaway success.) “The Hills” star tells People, “This will be more specialty basics, more of a boutique line. It will be at a higher price point. It will be very different.” So what are “specialty basics”? Sounds kind of like high-priced jersey dresses to us, which we’ve already seen from L.C. And who are the “best friends”? Lo would be awfully dissed if she heard that and it turns out she’s not a part of the project.

Help us all? Or maybe this will be good? [People Style Watch] Keep reading »
