If there’s one thing I can appreciate about Lady Gaga, it’s obviously her casual style and down-to-earth vibes. Little old uptown-Manhattan resident Stefani Germanotta has been riding the shock and awe wave for soooooo long, it’s ceased to be both shocking and awesome, which is probably why she’s taken the nearest right on her current path by morphing into Marilyn Manson, from whom Gaga could take a crash course in being shocking and awesome by way of not trying so hard. No, I get that this is the same “makeup” (“paint,” “color,” “face stuff,” I don’t know) she’s wearing for the cover of her new single, but still. Go inside, Gaga. Go insideeeee. [Photos: WENN]
Lady Gaga took some nude photos that appear in the newest issue of V magazine. She’s back on the publicity prowl, promoting her new record Art Pop, and that’s great. Whats not so great is the weird Photoshop job that was done to this particular shot. I mean, just where has Lady Gaga’s vagina gone? Did it have other plans? A swim meet to compete in? Groceries to purchase? Maybe it was feeling under the weather that day, and decided to stay home and rest up. Whatever the case, it seems that Lady Gaga’s Vagina, like it’s owner, is forging its own unique path. Click through to see what we’re talking about. Keep reading »
Donatella Versace is known as much for her perma-tan and white blond hair as for her fashions (which I generally think are tickety-tackety, but c’est la vie). It seems Donatella’s look, dahling, has perhaps inspired one of the biggest artists in the world, because this is apparently Lady Gaga’s new schtick. Here she is at Thursday night’s Gagosian Gallery opening for fashion photographers Inez and Vinoodh, decked out in the signature look for her new album, Artpop. What do you guys think? Another shocking move in the never-ending game of fashion industry musical chairs: Nicola Formichetti is out at Mugler! His departure (a “mutual decision”) is, as they say, Kind Of A Big Deal. The influential “fashion director” singlehandedly resurrected the French fashion house in his almost 3 years as creative director, transforming the staid old brand best known for its perfume into a trailblazer for innovative, avant-garde fashion.
Formichetti has his high-profile clients, particularly Lady Gaga, to thank for much of his monumental success — Formichetti has functioned as stylist to the pop icon since 2009… as in, he is responsible for Gaga’s infamous meat dress, meat-kini, and her male alter-ego Jo Calderone. In fact, it was Gaga who persuaded him to accept the job at Mugler — the floundering brand was in the market for a “multicultural young talent,” which they found in Formichetti. He’s also credited with “discovering” fully-tattooed Zombie Boy Rick Genest.
Any guesses as to where Formichetti will land next? Sources are saying Diesel, but I think it’s just as likely that we’ll see the young designer spin off into his own line. We wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up! [Fashionista]
It’s no secret that Lady Gaga’s been having some health problems of late. In February, she cancelled her Born This Way tour, after sustaining a labral tear in her hip. For the past several weeks she’s been recovering from hip surgery and has been seen in all manner of fancy, upscale wheelchairs. Her latest luxe chair is a specially made Louis Vuitton chair that she’s been rolling around in while visiting her boyfriend (and maybe fiance) Taylor Kinney, on the set of his middling TV show, “Chicago Fire.” Seriously, have you seen it? How do these things get made?
In any case, Gaga was in Chicago visiting Kinney for her 27th birthday, which she spent at a fancy Italian restaurant and the Polekatz Gentlemen’s Club. This lady rolls hardcore. As for how much the LV wheels might run, we’re estimating somewhere in the $20,000 to $30,000 range. Just a guess. [Photo: Flame Flynet]
