Lady Gaga’s Architectural Digest

It ain’t no thang to spot Lady Gaga wearing crazy headgear or anything, but the one she wore at the 30th Anniversary Gala of MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) was notable for being designed by none other than uber-architect Frank Gehry. Now that’s an interesting fashion collaboration. [L.A., 11/14/09] Keep reading »

Quickies: Lady Gaga And Beyonce Duet “Telephone” Released & One Dress Three Ways

  • “Telephone,” the Lady Gaga and Beyonce duet off Gaga’s Fame Monster album, has hit the internet. [YouTube] — I really like it, but it sounds more like Beyonce’s song than Gaga’s.
  • Did you know Jimi Hendrix had a sex tape? Well, here are 16 others you might not have seen. [Maxim.com]
  • Some movies like “The Wrestler” have such ambiguous endings, but now the mystery is solved. [College Humor]

Frisky Charticle: The History Of Pantslessness

French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld is my mom’s age. So why in God’s name is she going pantsless in lace tights and hooker boots, forcing us to be sick all over the place? I don’t care what people say about age being just a number, 55 is far too high a number for this Lady Gaga-esque behavior. In an effort to come to terms with a former icon’s decline, we’ve constructed a highly scientific chart tracing the progress of pantslessness through the last four decades. It won’t be easy, but taking the journey from ’70s roller girls all the way up to Carine is cathartic somehow. Keep reading »

Lady Gaga Wants To Write A Bad Romance

In her latest video, “Bad Romance,” Lady Gaga prances around, actin’ a fool, in a bunch of weird outfits. In other words, same stuff, different song. Fashion-wise, the Lady and her dancers are costumed as synthetic white asparagus stems, her nails are encased in mesh cages, and her key accessory is a hairless cat. That she can do that dancing in those 10-inch Alexander McQueen heels is impressive. Keep reading »

Lady Gaga Is What’s For Dinner

Lady Gaga parades her way through the December issue of Vogue magazine in a bizarre reenactment of Hansel and Gretel costarring Lily Cole and Andrew Garfield that was shot by Annie Leibovitz. “I’ve always been an outspoken and extreme dresser,” Miss Gaga confesses. You don’t say? At one point, Vogue Creative Director Grace Coddington reveals, she-who-wears-no-pants showed up on set “stark naked except for her white rubber raincoat and some very, very high heels.” It’s only a matter of time, one supposes, before the Lady forsakes clothes altogether, no? The full “Lady Gaga Does Hansel and Gretel” images after the jump. Keep reading »

Lady Gaga + Hello Kitty = Nothing’s Shocking

You can’t deny that Lady Gaga certainly has her own interesting fashion sense. But now, on top of her latest antics (like selling a piece of her hair to fans), she’s taking on the style of Hello Kitty. Eh, somehow we’re not surprised. It’s all for the character’s 35th birthday, yet the pictures by Markus Klinko and Indrani will appear on the cover of her special, limited-edition reissue album. You can also catch them in Los Angeles, on display at the Three Apples birthday exhibition. Maybe the precious Sanrio kitty will make an appearance during her tour? [Daily Mail] Keep reading »

Jewelry That Turns You Into Architecture

Tired of walking past buildings when you’d rather wear one? Joshua DeMonte steals architectural elements to create totally out-there accessories. A banister winds around a wrist. A staircase adorns a neck. A curtain-billowing window becomes a bracelet. Surely not for the fashionably shy, one imagines how long it’ll be before we see Lady Gaga wearing one of these creations. Get your spirit fingers ready! Today’s episode of “It’s On With Alexa Chung” is gonna be super-duper gay. [Twitter] Keep reading »

Just Another Monday Night

Oh Lady! Gaga looked like she was still in a Halloween state of mind at the Accessories Council’s ACE Awards yesterday evening, where she was presented with a Stylemaker award for her “genius” use of extraneous ornamentation. Sadly, wigs were harmed in the making of this headpiece. [NYC, 11/2/09] Keep reading »

Gaga For Gaga? Now You Can Own Her Hair

Was your neighborhood overrun with Lady Gaga impersonators this Halloween? For all those crazy fans out there, the wig-wearing diva is giving up a strand of her real hair to make their dreams come true. She’s selling a deluxe box set — complete with the book of Gaga, “The Fame” album, eight new songs, 3D glasses, and to top it all off, a lock of her hair. The price tag on this Gaga-licious item is $114.98. No word on where the money is going, but we’re pretty sure it’ll be added to the funds for her crazy costumes. We say this is way creepy. It was weird enough when Elvis sold his hair, but oh wait, he was dead already and he is also the King. Thoughts? [Mirror] Keep reading »
