“Mad? Ya think?! If he came back right now I’d have to kill him, for what he did to us. I’d f**king kill him. I’d f**k him, and then I’d kill him.”

Courtney Love kind of went off when a Vanity Fair writer asked her if she was angry at husband Kurt Cobain for committing suicide. Honestly, Courtney is probably going to get a lot of crap for this quote, but I don’t blame her for being pissed. The issues that drive people to take their own life — depression, illness, etc. — are complicated and hard to grasp and for that reason, I really loathe it when people write suicide off as simply “selfish.” However, the impact suicide has on the surviving family members and loved ones is also complicated and hard to grasp and for that reason I hope Courtney is cut a break for her comments.

In the article, Love also discusses her complicated (is anything not complicated with this woman?) relationship with estranged daughter Frances Bean. Check out more, after the jump… Keep reading »

Who’s That Girl? Frances Bean Cobain Is All Grown Up!

Damn. How amazing does Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of the late Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, look in this photograph shot by designer Hedi Slimane? Other pics on Slimane’s blog show that Frances shares her mom’s love of tattoos, though I think her face looks like the perfect mix of both her parents. Check out a few more after the jump! Tasteful Or Tacky Tribute? Jared Leto Channels Kurt Cobain

Yesterday was the 17th anniversary of Kurt Cobain‘s death/suicide and Jared Leto marked the sad occasion by releasing this bizarre video in which the actor and 30 Seconds to Mars singer performs Nirvana‘s “Pennyroyal Tea.” Um, dressed as Cobain. Apparently, he made the video awhile ago, when he was hoping to be cast in a rumored biopic about the rock star, but decided yesterday was the appropriate day to post it on the web for the masses to enjoy. (He never actually submitted it as an audition tape.) I’m not sure I agree that career-furthering, self-indulgent cosplay is the best way of paying tribute to one of rock’s most brilliant and tragic figures. What do you think? Frances Bean Cobain’s Art Isn’t Disturbing, It’s Good!

With Kurt Cobain as a dad and Courtney Love as a mom, it only makes sense that 17-year-old Frances Bean Cobain is an artiste. Under the pseudonym “Fiddle Tim,” Frances Bean will exhibit several of her drawings at Los Angeles’ La Luz De Jesus gallery and has sold all of her work for the reasonable price of between $250 to $400 each. “Celestial Splendor” is the charcoal work depicted here; “Treat Me Like Your Mother Or I’ll Eat The Sun” shows a big green alien head, and another drawing of a man standing next to a goat with the caption “I don’t owe you s**t.” Angsty, yes, but I think the girl’s got talent. Media outlets are saying Frances Bean’s art is “disturbing,” but the only thing I think is disturbing is the name of the exhibit: “Scumf**k.” Still, that’s tame in this family. Quotable: Silly Cobains. Taylor Momsen Wants To Be Kurt, Not Courtney

“I don’t wanna be Courtney Love—I wanna be Kurt Cobain. He’s brilliant and his songs are genius. The Hole records are great. Everyone always compares me to Courtney Love because they think we like dress the same and we both have blond hair, wear lipstick and dresses. But I’m sorry, don’t a lot of girls dress like that? I look at Nirvana. I don’t look at Hole.”

—Taylor Momsen blabbing to Entertainment Weekly, not realizing that the Courtney comparisons have more to do with her attitude and penchant for flippant quotes than her look. Maybe Taylor could do a little gender bending and play Kurt in the new biopic? [EW via Celebitchy] Keep reading »

10 Reasons Robert Pattinson Is A Pretty Good Choice To Play Kurt Cobain

This just in! Robert Pattinson has been cast to play Kurt Cobain in the new biopic “All Apologies.” R-Patz landed the role because Courtney Love—who has casting approval on the flick—wouldn’t have it any other way. “Robert has been calling and e-mailing her non-stop,” a insider told The Sun. “He is her number one choice to play Kurt.” So who will play Courtney? She is pulling hard for Scarlett Johansson, though obviously Lindsay Lohan would be the perfect choice with her bleached blonde hair, husky voice, and substance issues.

While many folks are probably up in arms about pretty boy Pattinson playing Kurt, we actually think that it’s great casting. Here are 10 reasons why. Keep reading »
