I don’t know if it’s just a hormone thing, but the fact that Kristen Stewart is happy is making me really, really happy (ditto Renee Zellweger). In an interview with USA Today, Stewart said that she’s “really happy right now, overly happy,” after two straight years of work following The Great PattinStew Love Bermuda Triangle of 2012. Good tactic, K-Stew, I’d forgotten all about it until just now.
She also said that she’ll be taking an indefinite vacation from acting in order to “make some shit with my hands,” and plans on buying a live-work space in downtown LA where she can make art and write (which sounds lovely, actually). “I’ve always felt intimidated and insufficient when I think about other forms of art I want to create,” she said. “I’m making a bunch of (stuff). I don’t know how I’ll put it out. But I’m not going to hold it so preciously close to me.” Keep reading »
Another name can be added to the growing list of celebrity feminists– and this one comes with some great commentary about gender equality on the big screen. In an Oct. 11 interview with The Daily Beast‘s Marlow Stern, Kristen Stewart talked about the rarity of strong and complex female protagonists in film and the double standards experienced by many women in Hollywood.
While she admitted she doesn’t see herself as the type of person to “stand up and affect change” when it comes to talking about issues in the news, Stewart did make some great points about why many women are rejecting the feminist label, telling Stern, “It’s a really ridiculous thing to say you’re not a feminist.” Read more on Huffington Post Women…
Whether or not Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult are actually dating doesn’t matter to Robert Pattinson. What matters is that Kristen finally has a new boyfriend, or is at least busy trying to get a new boyfriend. For all these months, he’s reportedly been the target of Kristen’s affections, even though he’s tried his best to move on and show that he’s over her. In fact, by Rob’s own admission, they’re still friends and keep in touch, which probably made the whole situation more difficult for Kristen. Read more on Celeb Dirty Laundry…
Last month, we previewed Jenny Lewis’ long-awaited comeback track, “Just One Of The Guys,” which featured a photo carousel of the singer wearing her now-signature rainbow suit—the one that also graces the cover of her new album, The Voyager, which is out July 29.
To celebrate the album’s upcoming release, Lewis has put out an official video—which she directed herself!—for the single. The clip is sort of a play on Robert Palmer’s “Addicted To Love” set-up, but with a gaggle of the singer’s famous female cohorts standing in for the tube-dressed drones. The video stars Kristen Stewart, Brie Larsen and Anne Hathaway as Lewis’ white suit-wearing and barefoot backup band. (I also think I spy Tennessee Thomas, former member of The Like and owner of NYC boutique The Deep End Club, on drums, but I can’t be totally sure.) Keep reading »
I first fell in love with Kristen Stewart 10 years ago. I was 12.”Catch that Kid,” a classic of our times, has a criminal 12 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Anyone who would review this film poorly is a joyless weirdo.
Stewart played Maddy, an adventurous tomboy whose skillset included climbing very tall things and emotionally manipulating boys. Her dad needed an expensive surgery, so she enlisted her two best guy friends to help her casually rob a bank. They aren’t feeling it at first, but then she gives each of them one half of a heart necklace with a promise that she loves him and doesn’t give a shit about the other guy. Bingo. Kristen Stewart’s Maddy is strategic, powerful, and a ruthless heartbreaker. 12-year-old me thought, What a dreamboat.
As far as mainstream kids’ movies go, “Catch that Kid” is a total queerfest. Maddy herself is an unfeminine little boss who is -20 percent interested in the romantic affection of preteen boys, while her mother is played by Jennifer Beals, aka “The L Word’”‘s power dyke, Bette. So, ever since Kristen Stewart was in this super great, super queer flop of a film, I’ve associated her with my own lesbian awakening – and I therefore feel weirdly protective whenever her real-life potential queerness comes into cultural question, and she’s run through the celebrity gossip meat grinder.
Which is happening now. Again. Keep reading »
When it was first reported that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted together, it wasn’t yet clear whether they accidentally ran into each other or were deliberately meeting up. However, an additional report from E! Online has clarified matters, reporting that Rob and Kristen spent four hours at the house that Rob is renting in Beverly Hills. Read more on Celeb Dirty Laundry…
