The first rule of doing an interview, particularly with very busy celebrities promoting film or television projects, is to come prepared. See the movie! Have a list of questions! Have a general sense of the plot! Know what makes this movie different from another movie the same actor starred in! That’s where Denver’s own Chris Parente fouled up. Despite claiming to have seen “The Skeleton Twins” at the Toronto Film Festival, Parente got a touch confused during his interview with the film’s stars, Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader. See, much to Wiig’s surprise, Parente second question was all about whether she had any advice to give about going nude on camera — after all, “YOU DID IT IN THE FILM!” he said upon seeing Wiig’s shocked reaction. Wrong film, bro. Watch Wiig and Hader handle Parente’s shit for him.
“Frozen” overload seems to have peaked sometime over the summer, and by now about a thousand mediocre covers of “Let It Go” have shoved their way into our lives, but this one is too awesome to ignore. Both Kristen Wiig and Ellen claim not to know the words to the song, but that doesn’t stop them from giving it a shot. As you can imagine, hilarity ensues. [Huffington Post]
Kristen Wiig knocked it out of the park with “Bridesmaids,” proving that she could fill movie theaters by running on funny. But contrary to what a lot of ex-”SNL” stars might do, she hasn’t just made the same comedy over and over again. She played slightly more serious roles in “Friends With Kids” and “The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty” and now she’s back for what looks to be even darker comedy. In “The Skeleton Twins,” Wieg and Bill Hader (AKA Stefon from “SNL”) play estranged siblings who are brought back together when both are at a crossroads in their lives. He’s a failed actor still damaged by an old relationship, while she’s unhappily married to bro-tastic meathead. Together again, they’re trying to patch things up and confront the past. Complicated relationships with siblings FTW!
Sure, having Lady Gaga, Will Smith, U2, Joan Rivers and Kim Kardashian, amongst others, appear on Jimmy Fallon’s debut episode as host of “The Tonight Show” is impressive, but, as any girl under the age of 15 will tell you, it could have used more Harry Styles. It’s not a party until One Direction’s cutest crooner (yeah, I SAID IT) has shown up. No word on where the real Harry was, but Kristen Wiig noticed the oversight and did her pal Jimmy a solid by showing up as a guest on his second episode as Harry Styles. She even sang! Kristen Wiig as Harry Styles may be my favorite Wiig’s impersonation yet.
My most recent online date was pretty bad. The guy told a date rape joke, loudly criticized anyone who dared brush up against him at the bar, and went on a rant about hating fat people. But at least he didn’t text me a picture of his asshole afterwards. The same cannot be said for Kristin Wiig’s date, who accompanied her to a taping of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” after she accidentally double-booked. Awkward. (Also, if Kristen Wiig is my OK Cupid competition, I’m even more screwed.)
