Kim, you look great in this cape and Lestat blouse! It’s awesome! You might even be wearing less makeup these days! Probably not though. I have one serious, serious conundrum, though, and that is pant-boots. Are these pant-boots, like you had on the other day? Is it pants, tucked into open-toed boots? Why do open-toed boots exist? Where are you getting all of these pant-boots? Is there a store for that? Is it DW Kanye West? Is Kanye enabling this? Worse still, is he encouraging it? Is a line of pant-boots your next business venture? … Hey, don’t get any ideas. Pant-boots are not, and never will be, a thing. I hope. But then again, I also said the same thing about you. You see how that turned out.
While I find “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” to be something of a boil upon the ass of pop culture, I generally co-sign on what Kim K. chooses to wear. But it seems like maybe her latest romantical kollaboration with Kanye West may have a negative impact on her fashion choices. Witness: This horrid ensemble, which Kim wore out and about in Paris. It’s hard to decide what’s the worst thing about it — whether it’s the pants, or the blousy, weird, asymmetrical turtleneck top. And oh, God, the pants are pant-boots. The whole thing is just a fail. Kim, you can do better than that! Keep reading »
The Kardashian Klan really leaves no personal stone unturned — we know virtually everything about them. The latest? Kim Kardashian divulged to Oprah during an interview on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” that she asked her momager Kris to put her on birth control when she was just 14. It seems Kim had had a boyfriend for a couple years at that point and told her mom, “I think I’m ready” to have sex. So, rather than do what most moms would — freak out, ground her for life, put locks on her bedroom door, etc. — Kris took her to get birth control. (My roommate just exclaimed, “so that’s where she got her ass.”) Onnnnnnnn the one hand, it’s nice that she and Kris had the kind of relationship where they could openly talk about sex and dating with one another. But then again, girl was 14. That seems a little bit young to be so permissive about sex.
Personally, my mother and I never really talked about that stuff — which is probably also not the norm. But what about you? Did you ask your mother (or father) to go on birth control? At what age? [Oprah] Keep reading »
I’m sure Anna Wintour is having a nasty hissy fit that her brand would deign to be associated with the likes of Kimmy Kardashian, but nevertheless, here it is, the L’Uomo Vogue cover featuring the perhaps maybe Ms. Future Kanye West. Because Vogue is cheeky like that, they’ve done the cover paparazzi style. [Vogue]
Last night, domestic abuser and homophobe Chris Brown got in a brawl with someone who was possibly in Drake’s entourage, supposedly over Rihanna, and he lost a bloody piece of his chin in the melee.
This morning, The New York Post reported xoJane writer Cat Marnell is leaving the blog to smoke angel dust and “write a book.” Like, she actually said that to a reporter. This is the new plan because she doesn’t want to stop using drugs, as she has been asked to do by her employer.
Then, this South African couple told the Daily Mail about how they keep an adult pet Bengal tiger inside their home as a pet and he sometimes chews up their sofas. This couple also owns several tasty-looking pet dogs.
Typically, I have boundless reserves of empathy, if not outright sympathy, for others. But it is time for some real talk: None of these people are deserving of our sympathy. I mean, it sucks when bad things happen to people, like when your Bengal tiger eats your couch. It would suck if more bad things happened to these people, like if your pet Bengal tiger eats your dogs. But do we feel bad for these individuals for the hard knocks coming their way? No. No, we do not.
After the jump, more people we do not feel bad for at all. Not one little bit. “Unbad,” you might even say: Keep reading »
