British advertising overseer Clearcast wants several scenes cut from the ad because they’re too shocking for TV viewers. So, people can watch women getting beaten on crime shows, but they can’t handle it during a two-minute commercial that intends to raise awareness about domestic violence? Keira Knightley seems to make period film after period film, and “The Edge of Love” doesn’t break the trend. In it, she and Sienna Miller play two women loved by the famous poet Dylan Thomas. The movie is out in very limited release in the U.S., but we think it looks worth Netflixing for a few reasons: 1) Lindsay Lohan was originally cast in the role Sienna plays, and we’d like to imagine how the train-wreck would have played it. 2) A first, we didn’t even recognize Sienna Miller. She had to put on a little weight for the role, and she looks lovelier than ever. 3) Matthew Rhys, aka Kevin Walker on “Brothers & Sisters,” plays Dylan Thomas. 4) Cillian Murphy and his baby blues. The British anti-violence charity Women’s Aid just released this PSA starring Keira Knightley and directed by Joe Wright (“Atonement” and “Pride and Prejudice”). “I wanted to take place in this advert for Women’s Aid because while domestic violence exists in ever section of society, we rarely hear about it,” Knightley said. “We may not think we know someone who has experienced domestic violence, but this does not mean that it is not happening.” Beware, because the two-minute video is disturbing — but then so is domestic violence, and maybe we need to be shocked into realizing what’s goes on in some relationships.
