Cate Blanchett has revealed in a new interview that she is against two things when it comes to beauty—using one’s own urine as a cleanser and getting Botox or plastic surgery.
“There’s been a decade or so of people doing intervention with their face and their body. Now that we’re emerging from that people are seeing that long term it’s not so great,” Blanchett tells Fashionista.com. “I’m not sitting on a soapbox telling women what they should and shouldn’t do, but I know what works for me. I’d just be too frightened about what it means long term. If you have all that stuff done, in the end … you just see the work. It doesn’t fill me with admiration, it fills me with pity.”
Interestingly, she is far from the only Kate to declare themselves against cosmetic procedures recently. Keep reading »
For Kate Walsh, star of “Private Practice,” posing naked on the cover of this month’s Shape was all about conquering a fear. “I was terrified, but I really wanted to do a naked cover—especially with Shape, because the magazine is about loving yourself inside and out,” she explained. “Right now, I feel really healthy, confident, and sexy. I’m enjoying my 40s and wanted to share that.” [viaKate-Book.com]
Hey, feeling good about the way you look in the buff is just as good a reason as any to keep the clothes off when the camera starts flashing. This got us thinking about other celebs who’ve bared it all for the sake of a photo spread. Just for fun, we decided to give you a little peep show. Go ahead, look. You know you want to.
Want to smell like Dom Pérignon and diamond grills? Well, I have the perfect fragrance for you —Kate Walsh‘s Billionaire Boyfriend.
Billionaire Boyfriend was released on Friday is the second in Walsh’s Boyfriend perfume line. The line is almost a take-down of the whole celebrity fragrance trend, except that you can actually buy the fragrances at both Sephora and on the Home Shopping Network. Apparently, Walsh plans to add a new fragrance to the line every Valentine’s Day.
The original Boyfriend fragrance was released last year and, as Walsh now explains, was inspired by a split with a significant other. Keep reading »
“I feel like a loser [for not having kids]. I would definitely love to be a parent, but I definitely don’t think I want to do it on my own… I thought I’d be married and have three or four kids. I always knew I wanted to be an actress, but I think I always wanted a quote-unquote normal life.”
—Kate Walsh, aka Addison Shepard of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” shares that, at 43, she feels like she’s missed out on having a family. I would normally insert a joke here, but this quote depressed me so much that I got nothing besides, we love you, Kate, and appreciate your honesty. [People]

I know what you’re thinking: “Does the world really need another celebrity fragrance?” I have to admit I thought the same thing when I was invited to the launch of Kate Walsh‘s Boyfriend fragrance at Sephora. But instead of paying attention to the celebrity behind the new scent and the packaging that looks way too much like Marc Jacobs, I decided to judge Boyfriend on its own. Keep reading »
Ever since Kate Walsh made her first appearance as Dr. Addison Shephard on “Grey’s Anatomy,” I’ve kind of liked her. But she totally won me over with the sushi dress she wore on “The Tonight Show” last night. Apparently, it’s her homage to Lady Gaga‘s cheap, stinky meat dress. Only Kate’s version is made of sustainable fish. And there’s even a little tuna roll ring. Cute! Keep reading »
If you’ve ever watched “Rock of Love,” you’re well aware that dating a rock star is passe. Ditto for athletes—who wants a dude whose bicep measurement is bigger than his IQ? No, there’s a new type of guy to lust after—Washington politicos. The Obama administration is ushering in a new throng of young, brilliant, and (dare we say) extremely hot politicians, and Hollywood’s leading ladies are taking notice. Rashida Jones, of “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation,” is currently dating President Obama’s chief speechwriter, Jon Favreau. Sure, he may be the one who drunkenly groped a Hillary Clinton cut-out during last year’s primary, but this dude is (a) adorable and (b) has one of the highest ranking jobs in the country even though he’s only 27. The couple made their first appearance at the White House Correspondents Dinner and have since been spotted cuddling at a hip Georgetown bar. [Celebitchy]
Then there’s “Private Practice” star Kate Walsh, who’s been getting cozy with Sean Smith, deputy assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security. (You know he’s important because his title is so long.) The two were apparently “phone friends” for months, but recently went public. Sean reportedly sent her flowers the day after the Correspondents Dinner to thank her for being his date. Awww…sweet.
We hope other Hollywood ladies catch on. Here are a few more civil unions we have in mind. Keep reading »
