Kanye “dressed” Kim, whatever that means, for her appearance at his fashion show in Paris, so naturally that’s head-to-toe Kanye West you’re seeing … or not seeing, if you’ve already closed your eyes to make it go away. I’m somewhat less concerned about the fur than the human she must have scalped for their hair.
Meet my new obsession, Susan Justice. She’s the singer/guitarist behind this awesome mashup of Kanye West’s “Stronger,” Kelly Clarkson’s single of the same name, and her own song, “Eat Dirt.” Eat Dirt is also the name of her upcoming album, out on Capitol/Kite Records on March 26, which I will be buying and playing on repeat. But I’m also obsessed with Susan’s story: she grew up as a member of the religious sect The Family, and spent her childhood on the road with her parents and siblings, performing as street musicians in the U.S. and in Europe. But The Family banned members from experiencing many aspects of mainstream culture, including the music Susan secretly came to love. Finally, she ditched her family and The Family and struck out on her own, performing in the New York City subway. From there, her star rose. So cool. [Susan Justice]
