Nerdy boy, he’s so slow/ Tuesday we started Foucault / He’s still stuck on the intro / He’s a no-go / Instead I had to kick him out my house / He mispronounced an author (Marcel Proust)

Oh my God, I’m dying. Two of my greatest loves — books and the Jay-Z/Kayne West album Watch The Throne — are now united as one in a supernova of nerdy fabulousness. Performers Annabelle Quezada and La Shea Delaney did their own take on “N*ggas In Paris” that’s an ode to reading — with lots of cameos from New York City bookstores. If you read so hard, libraries trying to find me, you’ll love it, too. Kanye “dressed” Kim, whatever that means, for her appearance at his fashion show in Paris, so naturally that’s head-to-toe Kanye West you’re seeing … or not seeing, if you’ve already closed your eyes to make it go away. I’m somewhat less concerned about the fur than the human she must have scalped for their hair.

First Listen: Susan Justice’s Kanye/Kelly Clarkson Remix

Watch Video

Meet my new obsession, Susan Justice. She’s the singer/guitarist behind this awesome mashup of Kanye West’s “Stronger,” Kelly Clarkson’s single of the same name, and her own song, “Eat Dirt.”  Eat Dirt is also the name of her upcoming album, out on Capitol/Kite Records on March 26, which I will be buying and playing on repeat. But I’m also obsessed with Susan’s story: she grew up as a member of the religious sect The Family, and spent her childhood on the road with her parents and siblings, performing as street musicians in the U.S. and in Europe. But The Family banned members from experiencing many aspects of mainstream culture, including the music Susan secretly came to love. Finally, she ditched her family and The Family and struck out on her own, performing in the New York City subway. From there, her star rose. So cool. [Susan Justice]

There goes peace in the Middle East: Kanye West is reportedly getting ready to make a film there, tentatively titled — wait for it — “N****s on Camels.” Yes, West has dispatched several members of his team to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha Qatar to discuss getting the production rolling. According to The New York Observer, “In Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha all of the film initiatives are government controlled. A bidding war is going on between various government entities and private investors to fund the film. There’s pretty intense rivalry here between Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar. They all want to claim the film as their own and take credit for generating the publicity.” Keep reading »

What Kanye West’s DONDA Commercial Would Look Like

We’re still not over DONDA yet, Kanye West’s plan for global takeover that he explained in depth over Twitter on Wednesday night during a manic rant. DONDA’s goal to “help simplify and aesthetically improve everything we see hear, touch, taste and feel … to dream of, create, advertise and produce products driven equally by emotional want and utilitarian need … too marry our wants and needs” with the assistance of “DJs, video game designers, publishers, tech guys, lawyers, bankers, nutritionist[s]” may sound lofty. But Jimmy Kimmel has helped conceptualize the grand Kanye plan into something … well … something the rest of us can conceptualize. [YouTube]
