Joss Stone is good at a lot of things, like singing and getting tattoos. Wanna know what she’s not so good at? Designing shoes. As evidence to support this claim, we present early images of Stone’s shoe collaboration with Nine West. Part of the brand’s American Vintage Collection, the kicks are allegedly inspired by the American countryside with, according to Joss, a little help from her own tattoos (look closely and you can sort of make out the “tattoos” on the shoes themselves). Perhaps these shoes really are American Vintage-looking and we just don’t get it, but we can’t help but feel they’re less suited for use by humans and more appropriate for a rather skanky yeti. Because, really, in what other world do thigh-high, faux-shearling boots with braided rope and tattoo detailing make sense? [The Cut] Keep reading »
Since everyone’s a designer these days, Nine West hired singer Joss Stone to collaborate on a fall 2010 capsule collection, resulting in three different pairs of Joss-approved shoes. Now, sure, inspiration comes from random places, but Joss and Nine West found their inspiration in a very unlikely source: the singer’s flower tattoos. “Each of my tattoos holds a very special meaning for me,” Joss said. “I love that the [collection] will incorporate some of my unique tattoo designs to give the line an even more personal connection.” Conveniently, her tats are on the top of her feet, so you can imagine that the shoes she’ll create will be designed to accent and show off her ink. Proceeds for the collection, which ranges in price from $70 to $120, will benefit Soles4Souls. At least the newest celebrity designer has a charity focus in mind. [WWD]

PETA announced today the winners of their annual sexiest vegetarian celebrities online vote, and singer Leona Lewis and the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Anthony Kiedis were the winners. Now, I’m a vegetarian and find myself very annoying. I worry about my friends always have to think, “Is there anything for Catherine to eat here?” when deciding on a place for dinner, and that makes me feel bad. If I were a celebrity, though, all of my friends would be vegetarians. Seriously. The list of female actresses in the running for the sexiest vegetarian award included 90 names. Here are 12 vegetarians who I wouldn’t mind befriending. Tofu anyone? [PETA] Keep reading »
