You guys know I love Joseph Gordon-Levitt, right? Like, love-love. However, I must say, this latest spate of cute videos of JGL singing might just have pushed me over the edge from love to hate. Like, stop being so great, guy. It’s too much. I can’t keep up. If my fantasy that we will one day end up together is going to come true, he’s going to have to get just a little bit more mediocre. “I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since.”

Well isn’t this adorkable? Oh crap, I just remembered we hate that word. Fine. Let me start over. Isn’t this lovely? Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, back together again, this time covering Nancy Wilson’s “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” Julie would absolutely hate me for saying this, but luckily she is on a plane to Mexico right now, so here it goes: I really kind of wish Zooey and JGL would give romance a shot in real life. I like them together. By the way, if any of you send this post to Julie, I’ll know.

So this reminds me — what the heck are you doing for New Year’s Eve, Frisky readers? So far, I have no plans. I am either going to Rhode Island to hang out with someone very tall, chilling out on my couch with someone very furry, or doing something in between, like drinking champagne straight from the bottle on a street corner in Brooklyn. As you know, we’re not really fans of anybody asking out our Most Wonderful Fake Boyfriend of All Time Joseph Gordon-Levitt. However, if someone’s going to do it, well, I suppose 26-year-old Lindsey Miller might as well. Lindsey’s been battling cancer for the past year, and after seeing JGL’s latest film “50/50″ — where he plays a young dude with cancer–she was inspired to get in touch. “After seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s performance and seeing/reading some of his subsequent interviews about the film I thought, ‘This guy gets it. And he’s cute. I wonder if I could ever run into him somewhere,’” she writes on her blog. “But even though I live in LA, it seems impossible to find him.” (That’s because he’s apparently been living in my neighborhood in Brooklyn lately). —Joseph Gordon-Levitt talks about one of the most pivotal scenes, in “50/50,” where he spontaneously shaves his head as Seth Rogen watches. Personally, I am so pumped to see this movie this weekend. It’s a comedy about two 20-something friends whose lives are turned upside down when one of them is diagnosed with cancer, and it’s based on the story of Seth’s real life best friend, Will Reiser. Two things we absolutely love: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and old-school Axl Rose. So imagine how much we loved Joseph Gordon-Levitt singing Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” in the style of Axl Rose Tuesday night on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.” “This guy does the best Axl Rose,” Jimmy said before challenging Joseph to sing a random song as the lead singer of Guns n’ Roses. Of course, Jimmy kicked things off by performing “Pumped Up Kicks” as David Bowie, and the two finished with a duet of Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory.” [Washington Post]
