Who would’ve thought a rock song about handies would include such awesome riffs? And who knew there were so many creative lyrics about them? Before Jonah Hill became the star of “Superbad,” he was music producer “Slick Rubin” in this several-years-old Maroon 5 video. (How young does Adam Levine look here?) The skit is pretty hilarious, but the song itself is surprisingly fun to listen to. Something tells me that if Jonah actually wrote lyrics for the band, we’d be hearing something a bit more creative on the radio these days … if it wasn’t bleeped out. [Gawker]
I would like to use this great photo of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill on the set of “22 Jump Street” to ask some questions that have been plaguing me about this film sequel. So, the undercover officers aren’t operating out of 21 Jump Street anymore? Did they make sure to have all of their mail forwarded? I assume that they had a pretty decent price on the old place, especially if it was rent stabilized, so 22 Jump Street is likely more expensive. And, seriously, what is so great about Jump Street? If I recall, the area is kind of lacking in charm. I mean, where is the nearest quaint coffee shop or artisanal cheese monger? You know? [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
Reasons why the reboot of “21 Jump Street” might suck: The Holly Robinson or Dustin Nguyen characters seem to be almost nonexistent. Also, Channing Tatum is a poor excuse for Johnny Depp. But who are we kidding? Ice Cube as Captain Dickson? Okay, okay. We’ll be seeing it in theaters (or at least on Netflix streaming).
Ahhh, “21 Jump Street.” The show that introduced us to our crush of the past 23 years, Johnny Depp. The premise was a little weak—a group of young-looking undercover officers investigate crimes committed by and to those who aren’t yet of age. (Check out the first 10 minutes of the pilot above.) Now, “Jump Street” is headed for the big screen. The stars attached? Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Wait, do we smell a buddy cop movie? Suffice it to say that Channing is no Johnny, but still—this could be pretty good. [EW] Keep reading »

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson and actress/Lolita Evan Rachel Wood have split up after two years and twin heart tattoos. While they looked like a match made in Hot Topic heaven, they probably seemed so happy because they were high off the fumes from their his and her black nail polish. Well, breaking up is hard to do, so we hope their division doesn’t get as bloody as their music video for “Heart Shaped Glasses.” On the upside, since she did the dumping, we’re sure Evan Rachel’s ready to rebound! We bet she’s looking forward to making out with a guy who won’t leave his lipstick all over her face. So, we’ve rounded up some dark and lovely dudes for her to pick from, after the jump… Keep reading »
Russell Brand quotes Oscar Wilde as easily as he rocks his ridiculously teased hair. He’s sexy, he’s suave, but, above all, he’s smart and he isn’t afraid to speak his mind. Despite getting flack for openly teasing the Jonas Brothers about their chastity rings and the “retarded cowboy President” Bush at the VMA’s last night, I thought [Me too! -- Editor] Brand stole the show with his off-handed hilarious comments — of course an accent makes everything sound better. Sure, the hole in the ozone is probably caused by the amount of hairspray he uses on his hair-do, but damn the boy is fine and funny! From guyliner to his groovy anti-establishment attitude, who is this one man British invasion named Russell Brand?

The National Enquirer reports that Mary-Kate Olsen and Jonah Hill went on a secret double-date at Chateau Marmont last week. “Mary-Kate and Jonah sat close together and seemed totally into each other,” a source told the tabloid. “They were both wearing plaid shirts that almost matched. It was the cutest thing.” You might be thinking, Wait! Didn’t MK go to a Radiohead concert with her plaid-wearing boyfriend Nate Lowman the night before her supposed date with Jonah? Yes, yes, that is true. But the Enquirer has gotten so many things correct that it’s hard to completely ignore them. And no matter which guy she chooses, plaid wins. [AHN] Keep reading »
