Quotable: Jon Hamm Is Our Kind Of A Man’s Man

“I was raised by a single mother. I think the definition of a man’s man has shifted in recent times to this sort of fratty bro, different from the older version, which was aloof and distant—Gary Cooper or Cary Grant or James Bond. Now it’s a little vulgar, kind of lowbrow, adolescent. I’m not that guy. Part of being an adult is treating women like women.”

Jon Hamm in the August issue of W. Hamm could treat me like a woman anytime, be it as himself, his “Mad Men” alter ego, Don Draper, or otherwise. [W Magazine] Keep reading »

Jon Hamm Plays With Himself On “Ellen”

Oh, get your minds out of the gutter! It was a Don Draper Barbie Doll Jon Hamm played with when he stopped by “Ellen” this week. And it wasn’t just any ol’ Don Draper Barbie Doll either; this one was wearing an Ellen thong under his pants. But who can think about dolls — or anything else for that matter — when Jon Hamm is around? And lucky for us, he’s about to be around a lot more. He’s currently filming the fourth season of “Mad Man,” which is set to start airing July 25. That’s two months from today, y’all, not that I’m counting or anything. [via YouTube] Keep reading »

Jon Hamm Does Sexy Sax Man Sergio & Senator Scott Brown On SNL

Jon Hamm hosted “Saturday Night Live” this weekend — for no real reason other than his undeniable hotness, seeing as he doesn’t have a movie to promote and “Mad Men” is on hiatus — and the results were delightfully … weird. In the digital short, above, Hamm plays a sexy saxophonist named Sergio who emerges during the most inopportune moments after a curse is placed on Andy Samberg’s character. For the record, Jon Hamm Covered In Birth Goop is still as sexy as Jon Hamm NOT Covered In Birth Goop. Keep reading »

The Many Beards Of “Mad Men”

The men in Hollywood are obsessed with beards, and among the largely male “Mad Men” cast, this is all the more apparent. The show isn’t taping at the moment, so those who want facial hair can have it until the cameras start rolling again. Michael Gladis, the actor who plays the always-bearded copywriter Paul Kinsey, shared his thoughts on his co-stars’ scruff with New York magazine, and apparently some of the guys’ beard-growing abilities are more impressive than others’. Jon Hamm has such fast-growing facial hair that Michael says he has to shave twice a day on set: “Jon Hamm can grow a beard in two hours. … He doesn’t get a five o’clock shadow, he gets a five o’clock beard.” [NYMag.com] Keep reading »

Jon Hamm Brings His Matchmaking Prowess Back To “SNL”

The first time Jon Hamm hosted “Saturday Night Life,” cast member Fred Armisen met his future wife, Elisabeth Moss, during a “Mad Men” skit. Who will Jon Hamm’s Patented Lurve-Making Magic work on this Saturday? (Also, do you think getting rid of that awful Grizzly Man beard was a pre-condition of Jon’s hosting?) [NBC] Keep reading »

Shun, Shag, Or Marry: The Newly Bearded Men Of Hollywood

While some women hate how facial hair chafes their chin, others find the grizzly mountain man look super sexy. I’m definitely in the latter category. Outside of soul patches (which I think are stoopid), facial hair can add character to a man’s face or cover up an otherwise weird-looking upper lip or chin. It can also make a really good-looking man even better looking. This is arguably the case with the newly bearded men of Hollywood: Jon Hamm, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney. This is why we’ve decided to take on the impossibly huge task of deciding which hunk should be shunned, shagged, or married. Keep reading »

Who Wears The Beard Best?

Enough with photos in tabloid magazines of celebrity women in matching dresses with captions asking, “Who wore it better?” Do we really care which starlet-of-the-hour looks more bangin’ in the Dior cocktail dress? Or, which accessories complement the Armani gown better? No! Bring on the men, we say. With three of our favorite hotties sporting new beards, this is a “Who wears it better?” situation we actually care to ponder. So who gets your vote? Jon, Jason, or George? Keep reading »

Don Draper Is A Doll

Do you want Don Draper? Don’t we all? A New Zealand ad agency tasked with promoting “Mad Men” — apparently, the show’s not a hit there — created this very special Don Draper doll out of a Ken doll. “See him drink, pitch, & philander,” the box promises. It’s so cute when it’s tiny. [Vulture] Keep reading »
