Shun, Shag, Or Marry: The Newly Bearded Men Of Hollywood

While some women hate how facial hair chafes their chin, others find the grizzly mountain man look super sexy. I’m definitely in the latter category. Outside of soul patches (which I think are stoopid), facial hair can add character to a man’s face or cover up an otherwise weird-looking upper lip or chin. It can also make a really good-looking man even better looking. This is arguably the case with the newly bearded men of Hollywood: Jon Hamm, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney. This is why we’ve decided to take on the impossibly huge task of deciding which hunk should be shunned, shagged, or married. Keep reading »

Who Wears The Beard Best?

Enough with photos in tabloid magazines of celebrity women in matching dresses with captions asking, “Who wore it better?” Do we really care which starlet-of-the-hour looks more bangin’ in the Dior cocktail dress? Or, which accessories complement the Armani gown better? No! Bring on the men, we say. With three of our favorite hotties sporting new beards, this is a “Who wears it better?” situation we actually care to ponder. So who gets your vote? Jon, Jason, or George? Keep reading »

Don Draper Is A Doll

Do you want Don Draper? Don’t we all? A New Zealand ad agency tasked with promoting “Mad Men” — apparently, the show’s not a hit there — created this very special Don Draper doll out of a Ken doll. “See him drink, pitch, & philander,” the box promises. It’s so cute when it’s tiny. [Vulture] Keep reading »

Jon Hamm Talks About His Previous Career At Skinemax

David Letterman sat down for a chat with my boyfriendMad Men“‘s Jon Hamm, and the conversation ventured into the territory of Hamm’s former career as a set dresser on those late-night Cinemax movies where chicks run around naked and guys hump them. During this “fallow period” of his acting career, Hamm was a prop wrangler on soft-core movies. “It was an exciting moment in my life,” Hamm reminisces. “It’s a closed set so only, you know, vital personnel are there. Then you see the guy that, like, runs the craft service thing, like, kind of eating a hot dog, staring at it. And it’s like, why does Jimmy need to be here?” Maybe they can work this story into a Sterling Cooper plot line? [Huffington Post] Keep reading »

(Another) Quote Of The Day: Jon Hamm Isn’t Getting Married Unless His Girlfriend Makes Him

“Marriage doesn’t really mean anything to me. I feel like in many ways marriage is more for the families [of the couple] than for the people involved, so I don’t gravitate to it. But I’ve also said that the minute that Jen is like, ‘You need to marry me,’ I’ll be like, ‘All right!’ We are both on the same page.”

10 Everyday Victories Worth Celebrating

The most recent edition of the K Chronicles, a comic strip on Salon, caught my eye this morning because it’s all about celebrating “life’s little victories,” like “reading a neat recipe you’d like to try…and you already have all the ingredients!” and “the one dollar bookstore actually has some good stuff.” As the strip says, we need to celebrate these everyday victories “now, more than ever,” so without further ado, after the jump are 10 Frisky-flavored victories to get excited about. Jon Hamm’s “30 Rock” Character Loves To Bake

Jon Hamm is guest starring on “30 Rock” starting Feb. 5, and a clip from the episode has been released! Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) discovers she has a handsome neighbor when Dr. Drew Baird’s mail gets delivered to her by mistake. From the 39 second that have been released, we know that Dr. Baird has an ice cream maker and loves to bake. Swoon.

The line Liz utters, “I want to go to there,” is one Fey stole from her daughter, Alice. At the SAG Awards, Fey thanked Alice in her acceptance speech for coining this phrase. About 25 years from now, Alice is going to be writing, starring in, and producing a show of her own, guaranteed. Either that, or she’ll be a highly acclaimed author. The girl is writing TV dialogue at age 3! Keep reading »
