“In a sexual way, I’m gay. But I would marry a woman tomorrow if it struck me. I don’t think sex and relationships necessarily have to go together.”
– Johnny Weir talks about his sexuality in his new memoir on what appears to be “Celebrities Talking About Maybe Being Gay Day.” The flamboyant ice skater decided to basically confirm what the universe already knew because “with people killing themselves and being scared into the closet, I hope that even just one person can gain strength from my story.” [People via Queerty] Keep reading »

Confession: I actually watched “Skating With The Stars.” I was mostly just curious to see Vince Neil of legendary rock band Mötley Crüe get on the ice. Yes, I went through a hard rock phase in elementary school. GNR forever! There’s something about an old, bloated, alchie try to do a one of those spinny things that tickles my funny bone. Predictably, watching Vince tumble and fumble was the highlight of the show, aside from judge Johnny Weir skating to Lady Gaga. I’ll save you the trouble of watching the rest of the show. The Olympian sat down with Stylecaster.com to discuss Karl Lagerfeld, ice skating costumes, and how “people are very afraid of what the world thinks of them.” Swoon! [Stylecaster.com] Keep reading »
“I’ve always been comfortable with who I am. When it comes to my sexuality, I just finished the chapter in my book [to be released in January] about my sexuality and my idea of it. I haven’t discussed it — not because I’m ashamed of anything you’ll read about when my book comes out — I just don’t want to put it out there in a way where someone can twist my words. While I don’t believe in masculinity and femininity, I don’t believe in a purely gay person or a purely straight person. I have a very clear opinion of my own sexuality. I’m not saying anything about my sexuality because I want it to be out there in my own words.”
— Johnny Weir, the skating world’s most flamboyantly dressed performer, prefers to keep some things private — at least until his book comes out in January. Whatevs, we think “comfortable with who I am” is a great way to be! [Queerty.com]
