We’ve never really heard of Bella Heathcote before, but we do know she’s in the new “Dark Shadows” remake starring opposite Johnny Depp, who will no doubt be channeling some version of Keith Richards. We also know she’s got pretty major bangs, and has yet to offend us sartorially, having picked a very lovely cream frilly thing to wear to the film’s Los Angeles premiere. Good show, Ms. Heathcote, good show!
As part of Hollywood’s never-ending pillaging of the TV landscape of my youth, the big-screen reboot of “21 Jump Street” hits theaters this Friday. Having been a huge fan of the show, I was opposed to the film from the get-go. However, after hearing that most (if not all) of the main cast members have cameos, and that the movie has very little in common with the series aside from the title and basic premise, I’m not so dead set against it. Besides, if it does well, there’s a good chance that some network will start airing reruns of the original show, allowing me to rekindle my once-raging crush on Peter DeLuise.
Before Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum go undercover this weekend, let’s look back at the days when Johnny Deppwas the baby-faced cop by whom we all wanted to be arrested. Here are 10 fun facts about the original “21 Jump Street” series that you may or may not know. Read more…
“You know, when I eat three peas, I’m pregnant. When I visit a city, I’m buying a house. In the winter I separate, in the summer I marry. It’s been 15 years since I’ve been getting married every year. In addition, I have to answer all these rumors!”
— Vanessa Paradis gets the prize for the best “mind your own business” response to a journalist asking her about the alleged Johnny Depp breakup. The rumor is that Vanessa and Johnny — who never married but have two kids together — are separating because he has fallen for his “Dark Shadows” co-star Eva Green, who is also a gorgeous Frenchwoman. We were hoping this split was just vicious gossip, but everybody knows a People magazine cover means business. [Starpulse]
The latest in celebrity breakup-related depression is the alleged separation of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis. I heard the rumors just last week, and chalked them up to just that — rumors. Neither of the two parties have come forward with an official statement but, lo and behold, they’ve landed the cover story of this week’s People with a tale of “love gone wrong” and “their separate lives.” The cover continues to read:
After 13 years and two kids, the couple’s longtime relationship has hit the rocks. Inside the secretive stars troubled love life.
As much as I don’t want to believe it, it’s People. People never gets it wrong, and especially not on the cover. I’m interpreting this story as one of sad truth. In honor of Johnny and Vanessa’s time together, here’s a look back at some of the couple’s appearances over the past 13 years. I wish all the best for them and their children.

Just in time for Halloween, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” is out on DVD! The 4th installment of the franchise sees Johnny Depp’s wiley Captain Jack Sparrow leading a quest to find the Fountain of Youth in the Americas (as if Johnny Depp doesn’t get better with age). Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane and even more action than the previous films make this movie more than running around drunk at Disneyland. Check out the trailer!

How is it humanly possible that at age 48, Johnny Depp is sexier than he was when I used to rip his photos out of Tiger Beat? From Officer Tom Hanson to Captain Jack Sparrow, this man is aging like a bottle of the French Bordeaux of which he is so fond. There’s a reason why he’s been voted People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive … twice! Light up a Cuban cigar and click away to admire some of the irresistible iconoclast’s finest moments.
A shorter version of this trailer aired on TV this week, and since I don’t watch as much network television as I used to, I wasn’t sure how new the trailer was. Turns out it’s brand new—and it’s news because Johnny Depp has been working on “The Rum” Diary since 2007. The movie itself has reportedly been locked in pre-production purgatory since 2000; Hunter S. Thompson, frustrated by the slow development of “The Rum Diary,” famously called the project a “waterhead **karound.” Read more… Keep reading »
