Anti-Drug Speaker Of The House John Boehner’s Daughter To Marry A Pot Head Rasta

h the irony! Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Boehner has fought against drugs throughout his political career, but that fight has made it a little too close to home. Boehner’s daughter, Lindsay is about to tie the knot with her Jamaican fiance, Dominic Lakhan and his drug-infested past should be a big issue for the Speaker.

According to a police report obtained by the National Enquirer, 38-year-old Lakhan was pulled over for a traffic violation in Pembroke Pines back in 2006 and the authorities discovered an open can of Natural Lite beer and the car smelled like “the odor of burnt cannabis emitting from the interior of the vehicle.” Upon further investigation, the cops found two bags with almost two grams of marijuana in them. Lakhan admitted that the pot was his and he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor pot possession. Read more on Hello Beautiful…

“Slow down. Slow down. How about a little foreplay? There’s a bipartisan conversation going on in the Senate. There’s a bipartisan conversation going in the House. Let these things work their way along. It is too early to talk about legislation going on in one house or the other.”

– This was Speaker John Boehner’s cringeworthy response yesterday to a question about immigration reform.  Okay, can we just all say “ewww!”  Yo Boehner, if the phonetic pronunciation of your last name is already a dirty joke in the making, best not bust out the sex metaphors! [Huffington Post]

7 Things To Know About The Government Shutdown Over Planned Parenthood

“The moving target is focused on women in America.”

That was Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to reporters this morning as he addressed the threat of a government shutdown over an inability by Republicans and Democrats to reach a deal on the budget. The main piece of contention? Funding for Title X, which allocates funds for family planning services, including those offered by Planned Parenthood. The issue? Even though Title X funds don’t cover them, Planned Parenthood provides abortions.

In simple, basic terms, let’s recap seven things you need to know about the threat of a governmental shutdown: Keep reading »

John Boehner Accused Of Cheating, National Enquirer Reports

Cue the “boner” jokes: Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) may have cheated with two young women, according to an alleged New York Times investigation reported by The National Enquirer. Gossips in D.C. are apparently abuzz with the news that Boehner boned Lisbeth Lyons, a lobbyist, and Leigh LaMora, a former press secretary to Colorado ex-Congressman Joel Hefley, the Enquirer reports. And the Enquirer was right about John Edwards, after all! The Speaker of the House and his wife, Deborah, have been married for 37 years and when she was contacted in late January by the Enquirer about the cheating allegations, she reportedly kept mum. I hope the Boehner cheating rumors are not true, because that will really give him something to cry about. [The National Enquirer via FireDogLake] Keep reading »

Today’s Lady News: Sarah Palin Says There’s A Double Standard For Crying

Sometimes there’s just so much lady news that I have to do a weekend post in addition to my regular daily post. So for your enjoyment, here is “Today’s Lady News: The Weekend Edition.” Damn, I feel all fancy, like NPR!

  • Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin addressed soon-to-be Speaker of the House John Boehner’s habit for tearing up and rightly pointed out that there is a double standard when it comes to men and women politicians crying. “I don’t know if a woman would be given a pass necessarily,” she told “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts. “I respect John Boehner because he has worn his feelings on his sleeve on things that are so important to him … and I give him that pass, too. But that’s one of those things where a double standard certainly is applied. I’m sure if I got up there and did a speech and I started breaking down and cried about how important it is to me that our children and our grandchildren are provided great opportunities, I’m sure that I would be knocked a little bit for that.” [ABC News]
