OK. Once you’re done gawking at the absurdity of Jessica Simpson’s latest Twitpic, let’s talk about why she might be wearing this penis mask, which, may I add, is absolutely hideous. Penises are not the most attractive organs, but this mask is really doing dicks everywhere an injustice. She says it’s for a bachelorette weekend. But that’s too cruel to do to a bride-to-be. Is she trying to put the girl off sex for the rest of her life? I suspect this may be her way of telling us she’s having a boy. She does love a good Twitpic announcement. Discuss. [Buzzfeed]
Miley Cyrus slammed weight critics this week on Twitter – but she’s hardly the first female star to face criticism over her body in public.
“I LOVE being shaped like a WOMAN & trust me ladies your man won’t mind either,” Miley said to all the haters who bashed her for having a fuller face (but still looking healthy, happy and, in our opinion, beautiful) in recent photos.
The young star is only the latest in a long line of women who have hit back at the critics head-on. Demi Lovato, Adele, Jessica Simpson and more — see who else has battled with haters. Read more…
“Pregnancy is a friend of mine, so everything has been running smoothly. So far, so good — no morning sickness. I feel great. I’m tired, but you know, I’m making a baby here!”
– Jessica Simpson told “Access Hollywood” that so far, her pregnancy is going swimmingly. She and fiance Eric Johnson are putting off their wedding until their “spring baby” arrives in 2012, explaining, ”When you’re pregnant, your hormones go crazy. I don’t want to be super stressed out and end up being a bridezilla! So, I’ll wait until after.” She also revealed more details on how she found out she was with child. Find out what she told the pathologically annoying Billy Bush, after the jump! Keep reading »
“I got so much scrutiny for putting on extra pounds, but I think that the decision not to make myself anorexic was actually great for branding. Because when you’re really, really skinny, not everybody can relate to you.”
– Jessica Simpson, who announced she’s expecting her first child earlier this week, is on the cover of the December issue of Lucky and seems to spend a lot of time during the interview discussing her weight. Jessica tells the magazine that she likes the way she looks “now,” which the mag describes as “not the celebrity ideal” because she stopped spending “six hours a day on the Exercycle and going on a juice cleanse.” Of the change in her body, Simpson says she “didn’t cry about it too much,” in part, it seems, because of the positive response she received from real women who found her more relatable as a result. Some weeks in the blogging world are known as “slow news weeks.” Those are weeks devoid of pregnancy announcements, sex scandals, and A-list divorces. And there are other weeks when tabloid stories are breaking like waves in a hurricane. Yesterday, we enjoyed a double story break with the announcement of the end of Kim Kardashian’s 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries and Jessica Simpson’s “mummy” confirmation. When big stories break, it’s always strategic. Whenever a celebrity wants to hide something, they make an official statement after the weeklies have dropped. If they’re vying for media attention and blog love, they go public just in time for the story to make the cover of the upcoming issue. So it’s a gain a week, lose a week principle. Keep reading »
Eh, I won’t build the suspense for too long. The answer is … Jessica Simpson! The maybe-probably-totally-pregnant star tweeted this photo of herself sitting on the can at Bergdorf Goodman. I have many questions. Where are her shoes? (No judgement — I go barefoot in our bathroom at work and I’m not joking.) If you’re 5’3 (as she is) do your feet really dangle off the ground that much? (“Short girl problems,” she wrote alongside the photo.) And who took this pic anyway? Her fiance? Her dad? Eww. Whatever. [Buzzfeed]
