After trying her hand at reality television and designing accessories, Jessica Simpson is finally ready to get back in the music game. She tweeted recently, “What kind of music would y’all want from me on my next album? Thinking about going back to the studio.” Because that’s normally a good way to find direction—ask your fans for it rather than follow your own instincts. But what the heck. My love for Ryan Gosling may occasionally take me to inane places — please see yesterday’s “sockless” slideshow — but at least I’ve never been so obsessed that I’ve written a book about our fictional love affair. The same cannot be said for Marce William Burchell, an obsessed Jessica Simpson fan penned the book above about their (fake) relationship, which he is currently selling on Amazon for $30. That’s basically a $1 for every word in just the title: The True Story of Jessica Ann Simpson’s 22 month long attempt to seduce a married man- her very Active Super Secret Sex life: True Story Jessica Simpson Seduction of A Married Man (Volume 1). Apparently, however, not a lot could have happened in that 22 months, as the book itself is only 30 pages. The most expensive birthday gift I ever received from a significant other was a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps that pinched my feet. I never wear them, as I have yet to get the necessary foot-binding procedure. Jessica Simpson won’t have that problem with her pricey b-day gift from fiance Eric Johnson — a highly-coveted Hermes Birkin bag estimated to cost $15,000. Jessica Simpson has decided to give reality TV another chance. She’s signed on to be the celebrity mentor on NBC’s new series, “Fashion Star,” a “Project Runway”-esque design show hosted by Elle MacPherson. This will be Jess’ third attempt at a reality series — “Newlyweds” ended in divorce and “The Price of Beauty” ended in cancellation — so we hope she’s learned a thing or two. [US Weekly]

Going to your 10-year college reunion is fun. It’s even better if you happen to look hot and have gone on to a fun and fulfilling career. And I have to imagine it’s all the way to awesome if you go with a famous Jessica on your arm. This weekend, two very famous faces were on hand for the Yale Class of 2001 reunion—Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba. Both were there with their respective dudes. JessSimp attended with her fiance, Eric Johnson, who played football at the school. Meanwhile, JessAlba attended with her hubby, Cash Warren.
