While flipping through the September/October issue of Manhattan magazine, we noticed a fashion spread with a model wearing what looks like the nonsensical Siwy see-through jeans. Upon closer inspection, however, we discovered they are, in fact, Jean Paul Gaultier fishnet panel tights, and they retail at Bergdorf Goodman for a mere $135. Called Junior Jean-Paul Gaultier, the back-to-school designs take inspiration from the ’80s and quintessential (if not downright stereotypical) French style. For fashion-istas and -istos of 2-16 years of age, the styles include too-cute sailor dresses, cheesy (yet adorable) leopard jackets, and cheeky berets. Oh, Jean-Paul Gautier, you never cease to entertain. At his Spring 2010 menswear show the designer has a few of his male models strut down the runway in denim tube tops.
