Care For A Balloon Animal?

Rookie Mag’s fabulous Ask A Grown Man video series gives us a peek into the male mind from the likes of Jon Hamm and Judd Apatow. NPR host Ira Glass is the latest grown man to dish out advice (he also happens to be the husband of Anaheed Alani, an editor for Rookie) … but not after first teaching us all how to make balloon animals! A balloon Snoopy, in fact. He also answers questions about whether guys think women with short hair are “feminine looking” and how to tell a man in a sexy way that you’ve never given him a blowjob. “I think I can speak for all men when I say there is no unsexy way to tell a man you want to give him a blowjob,” Ira explains. “Literally any words you choose are going to be the right words. Those are are incredibly welcome words of any man or boy of any age. You could write it in crayon in another language and then translate it word by word. You could write it in Braille and run his fingers across it. You could put the words in the reverse. You could say it Yoda-style, like, ‘Blowjob, want to have?”  Yoda-style! Whoa. Let’s not get carried away, girls. It’s just a blowie. [Rookie Mag]

The (Fake) Ira Glass Sex Tape Has Leaked

Watch Video

Forget about the starlets, celebutantes and daughters of famous people you’ve seen in flagrante delicto before: nebbishy pin-up Ira Glass from “This American Life” on NPR has his own sex tape that any tote-bag carrying public radio listener will love. Sure, it’s a spoof and it’s about as sexy as a pledge drive. But, hey, at least it wasn’t a sex tape with Click and Clack, the Tappet brothers. (Shudder.) [YouTube via BuzzFeed]

Ira Glass Discovers The Recipe For Coca-Cola

Bwahahahaha! The Coca-Cola code has been cracked! And by Ira Glass of “This American Life” no less. So how did he get his hands on the top secret recipe which people have been trying to decode since the late 1800′s? He came come across a copy of it (which is normally kept under lock and key in a guarded vault in Atlanta) in an old photograph. The recipe for Coca-Cola, after the jump. Let the soda-making begin! Or not. Too bad I gave up Coca-Cola years ago. I eagerly await the the magical recipe for Diet Coke, however. [Washington Post] Keep reading »

Girl Talk: Friends With Benefits? I Don’t Think So

Not long ago, I met a guy that reminded me of that sexy NPR storyteller Ira Glass. Instantly, I fell in nerd-love with this doppelganger. After dating for a while, though, we realized we had only one thing in common: sex. So we decided to be friends with benefits. According to a Michigan State University study, sixty-percent of college co-eds have been involved in an FWB relationship, and plenty of my thirty-something girlfriends were doing it to stay satisfied, so I figured I’d give the laid back, no-romantic-attachments approach to getting laid a whirl. A year later, faux-Ira and I still hang out and hump. After our most recent rendezvous last weekend, I began to wonder what I’m doing. What are the real benefits to friends with benefits? Sure, now I have an in-case-of-sexual-emergency-hit-Glass-lookalike. At the same time, I’ve started to realize my situation is causing me to question the meaning of friendship, challenging my chances at romances, and wobbling my emotional stability. Keep reading »

The Daily Hotness: Ira Glass

This Sunday night, Ira Glass is coming back to my place…through my cable provider. From behind the desk of his NPR radio show, Glass sweet talked himself and his stories into our hearts. Now with his highly anticipated Showtime series about to start its second season, he is the face of modern American mythology and revolutionary reality television. When he took to the stage last night in New York City to boldly go where no man had gone before — doing This American Life live and via national simulcast, the sexy storyteller seduced the audience with his casual charm, quick wit, and signature tight grey suit. Our Emily and I giggled and cheered like he was a Beatle along with the gaggle of other horn-rimmed-glasses-groupies. And from what we saw of the show, the new season looks as smart and as good as the man himself! Keep reading »

NPR Host Raises More Than Funds

Every woman loves a smooth talker, but no man appreciates a stalker- especially Garrison Keillor. The author, musician, storyteller, and host of NPR’s variety radio show A Prairie Home Companion can now add sex symbol to his resume. The generous gentleman just dropped a restraining order against a woman who wouldn’t stop sending him care packages filled with love tokens like dead beetles and an alligator foot. The crazy companion-ophile agreed to back off the radio star and let the rest of the animals in American live, although she plans to work on a book about how she believes, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, “she and Keillor influenced each other’s creative process.” Now this gal is nuttier than a couple months worth of on-air fundraising drives! Perhaps instead of their usual radio pitches, NPR could take a cue from their fans and the firemen and make a Hot Men of Public Radio Calendar. We’re sure a shirtless Ira Glass would bring in the big bucks! [TMZ] Keep reading »
