Because All Your iPhone 4 Is Missing Is A Pair Of Balls

Protect your iPhone from possible damage and indulge your family jewel fetish at the same time with a case adorned with dangling testes. Because, as the creators of Phoneballs put it, “Whether male or female, chances are you have been touched by a pair of balls in your life…. don’t you want to touch ‘em back?” [$15, Phoneballs]

[UPDATE: Yeah, I originally called it a 4G. I'm still using a rotary, what can I say?] Keep reading »

Strike A Pose: A Fashion App To Share With Friends

Ever end up going shopping alone and then find you really need some fashion advice? Well, a new iPhone app called Pose allows you to ask top fashion consultants and your friends for their advice and opinions. You simply snap a photo of the cute little black dress or awesome (but expensive) new bag and upload to the system for friends to view. Monogrammed iPhone Wallpaper? That’s A Preppy Move I Can Do

Somehow I grew up in the preppiest place in the world and still managed to never have one of those monogrammed L.L. Bean tote bags that inform the world your name is “Muffy” or whatever. But monogrammed iPhone wallpaper? I want now. The 3initials app, $1.99 from the iTunes store, lets you pick a variety of preppy fonts and colors — mostly pink and green, natch — and saves your monogram into your photo album. Tap it to make your monogram into your iPhone wallpaper. It’s easier than popping your collar! [3initials.com] Keep reading »

Angry Birds Continues Its Quest To Ruin My Life

So, what are your plans this weekend? I’m going to work on my book proposal, maybe do a little reading, see a movie, perhaps get brunch with friends — oh, wait, NO I’M NOT. Because, as of midnight tonight, Angry Birds — the iPhone and iPad app that has already stolen countless hours of my time, not to mention eaten my soul — is releasing 45 new Halloween-themed levels. Productivity killed. I might need someone to pop by my apartment in a couple days to flip me so I don’t get bed sores and to remind me to stay hydrated. Keep reading »

Ladies With iPhones Get Laid The Most

A new study done by the online dating site OKCupid found that women who have iPhones are getting laid way more than Blackberry or Android users. Even male users. On average, of the almost 10,000 people surveyed, the iPhone-toting ladies have an average of 12.3 sexual partners by age 30 while ladies using Blackberries have about 8.1 and Android gals have about 6.1. The male sex partner stats are respectively 10, 8.1, and 6. Wait, how is it that the ladies are getting laid more than the dudes? And even more importantly, when is AT&T going to end the monopoly so that we people, ahem, with other wireless services can get an iPhone and start scoring? [Fast Company] Keep reading »

Where The Pervs Are: New iPhone App Tracks Street Harassment

pervert photo

It’s that time of year, ladies: heat waves burning across the continental U.S. and Leering McLeerers are coming out of the woodwork. (Or is it up from the sludge?) Not that McLeerers wait until sundress season to sexually harass women in public. Many is the man who finds something sexually foul to say when you’re wearing a down parka. A new iPhone app, soon to receive approval from the Apple app store, will let women in New York City chronicle their sexual harassment on a map. It’s created by the women behind the Hollaback! blogs, where women in cities across the country write in with their experiences of street harassment and sometimes even snap cellie pics of the douches who pester them.
