Mason jars are the perfect all-purpose summer mug. Great for everything from your morning iced coffee to your evening mixed drink, they look cool while keeping your libations cool, too. And that’s why I’m totally crazy about this “Drinking Situation” mug from In God We Trust, which takes the typical mason jar up a few notches. Complete with a travelin’ safe screw-top and a sipping straw, the Drinking Situation mug will quickly replace virtually every glass you own, not to mention all those pesky to-go cups you’re always picking up that are bad for the environment and don’t look that cute, either. Crave: In God We Trust Best F**king Friends Necklace

There are several different types of love. There’s the sweet, calm love you feel for a pet, or the fire-in-your-pants love you feel for a romantic interest. And of course there’s friend love, which can sometimes be so consuming that the only way to express it is in a slightly aggro, clench-jawed way that says, “I love you, man. Okay? I f***in’ love you. There. I said it.” If that’s how you feel about your bestie, check out these cracked heart Best Friends necklaces by In God We Trust, which bring back the old-school charm without the sugarcoat. Now all you need to do is get drunk together, have a heart-to-heart, and hug it out. [$220 for set of two, Refinery29Shops.com] Keep reading »

Bad Names: How Can Parents Do This To Their Children?

They wish their parents had named them “Melissa” instead of “Margaret,” or that they had a better/more normal middle name, something like “Marie,” the most popular middle name in my seventh grade class. And then there are those who need to change their name in order to function normally in society. A 9-year-old girl in New Zealand has been made a ward of the court so that she can change her name from “Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii.” Seriously. Maybe her parents were drunk or high when they came up with the name, but really, is that an excuse for forcing your child to go through life with that name? The poor girl is so embarrassed by her given name that she is known among her friends as “K.” And yet, there are actually people who change their names from normal to bizarre. CNN reports that a guy in Illinois legally changed his first name to “In God” and his last to “We Trust.” Bet that helps him pick up the ladies. [CNN] Keep reading »
