The Zelda Collection by Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in Ohio and Tennessee opportunistically celebrates the writer and bon vivant’s “free spirt” with four different flavors which carry you from her childhood in Alabama to Paris in the Roaring Twenties: Blackberries + Sweet Cream, Cognac + Marmalade, Loveless Biscuits + Peach Jam, and Dark Chocolate Rye. Not sure if the Fitzgeralds are rolling over in their graves or thumbing their noses because there isn’t more alcohol involved. I’ll preface this Crave by saying I am literally Craving this right now, and as soon as you try it, you will be too. I consider myself fortunate to be able to say that ice cream is my only vice — well, aside from brut, brut rosé, prosecco, and any and all other varieties of sparkling wine beverages. I have also been known to get adventurous in the freezer section of the grocery store from time to time. Last night, my audacious nature while shopping for food led me straight into the arms of something called Adonia, which I feel is my destiny. A derivative of delicious gelato brand Ciao Bella, this new Greek frozen yogurt is fat-free, doesn’t contain any artificial sweeteners, and happens to be just 130 calories per serving (75 a pop, if you go for the bars), but what you want to know is how delicious is it? So, so delicious — cold, creamy, and smooth, with a texture somewhat like a more frozen Pinkberry. It comes in seven flavors (vanilla, raspberry, blueberry, key lime, peach, mango, and espresso), with bars in peach and blueberry. The peach is my favorite. You want to eat this.
