Here Are James McAvoy And Michael Fassbender Doing Impressions Of Patrick Stewart And Ian McKellen

Gandalf, But With A Bigger Dick

Here’s something guaranteed to put a smile on your face on this Friday morning: James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender doing impressions of their “X-Men” costars Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen — to their faces. Come to think of it, if there ever was going to be a movie made about the glorious friendship between Patrick and Ian — and yes, that is a movie I would totally see — James and Michael could totally play them in their younger years. Sirs Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellen Are Pumped For The Super Bowl

It’s not their idea of football, but British bestie Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are currently living in New York and performing on Broadway together, so American football is what they’ll watch. The adorable duo posted this photo to Twitter — the latest to add to a wall calendar we would totally purchase — clad in jerseys, ready to cheer on the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos in this Sunday’s Super Bowl. I wonder if either of them has tailgated before? It’s never too late to try a keg stand if you ask me. [Gawker]

Win This! 2 Tickets To See Ian McKellen & Patrick Stewart On Broadway In "No Man's Land"

In addition to being the best of friends, Sirs Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are both legends of the stage, and they are sharing that stage in two productions on Broadway, “No Man’s Land” and “Waiting For Godot” (both plays also star Billy Crudup and Shuler Hemsley). Ami and I had the opportunity to go see “No Man’s Land” (written by Harold Pinter) last week and loved it. Stewart and McKellen star as two elderly writers who meet at a pub and then spend the rest of the evening drinking (a lot) and talking. Their dude bonding is interrupted by the arrival of two younger men, and all of their connections to each other are exposed. It’s a play that uses language, word play and, most of all, timing to inspire laughter. And we’re giving away two tickets to see “No Man’s Land” to one lucky reader! Prize details, rules and entry form are after the jump! Keep reading »

7 Stupidly Nerdy Questions I Did Not Have The Courage To Ask When I Met Sir Patrick Stewart

Last night, Ami and I had the pleasure of going to see Sirs Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in “No Man’s Land” on Broadway. The show was fantastic and funny, and I’ll tell you more about it when we give away tickets next week. After the show, I bid Ami adieu and then stood outside in the freezing cold to wait for my favorite duo to exit through the stage door.

Obviously, as a “Star Trek” obsessive, I was not going to miss my chance at meeting the man who played Captain Jean-Luc Picard on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” I do not say this lightly: I would not be the Amelia I am today without Picard. His infinite wisdom and exemplary leadership skills inform my daily life. I mean, when I’m in a tough spot and am not sure how to handle it, I just ask myself, What would the captain of a Galaxy class starship with over a 1,000 crew members do? and I’m immediately on the right track. We somehow got cropped out of the photo, ahem, but Sirs Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen join all of us at The Frisky in wishing you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2013: The Year In Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellen’s Amazing Friendship

I don’t think I have a best friend. (Well, a human one. Love you, Lu!) I have a handful of really close friends, and plenty of friends, and even more acquaintances. But a best friend? A partner in crime? Alas, I don’t think I do. But in 2014, I’d like to strengthen my existing friendships and make some new ones, with a little help from my favorite pair of celebrity besties, Sirs Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. Their bromance, which the internet got to enjoy via the copious photos they posted to Twitter and Instagram, is such an inspiration. Click through to review what we can learn from their best bonding moments this year!
