Proving that she’ll take her very successful House of Harlow 1960 brand as far as demand will allow, Nicole Richie has added a collection of handbags to her fashion and accessories brand. The handbag line, which includes everything from crocodile clutches to large leather bags, has the bohemian vibe Nicole is known for. The concept behind the collection was to contrast luxury with casual, using young calf hair and relaxed vintage leathers. But skins aren’t the only focus–great attention was also paid to the hardware. Gold and black studs adorn the larger bags, and jaguar heads close clutches. The line is slated to arrive in stores mid-July, and seems to have something for every woman, a goal Nicole said she had in mind while designing. Prices will range from $150 to $625. While we’re not exactly superstitious, it doesn’t hurt to employ a few extra sources of good luck, right? Though we’re not ready to start carrying around a rabbit foot, we’d totally consider a pretty but powerful charm in the form of jewelry. Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 Horseshoe Bangle toes the line between over the top and chic without going overboard on the kitschiness. Keep it simple by wearing just the horseshoe or load up on bangles and hope for the best in luck and love.
Nicole Richie has come a long way since her “Simple Life” days and, aesthetically speaking, nowhere is that more evident than her jewelry line House of Harlow. We remain skeptical about her Winter Kate clothing franchise, but Nicole’s jewelry is consistently an expert blend of vintage and modern, forcing us to lust after pretty much all of it. Sadly, at about $150 for a bracelet and as much as $250 per necklace, the stuff isn’t exactly free. If you’re in the market for an awesome piece of costume jewelry, though, give House of Harlow a look, because we pretty much guarantee you’ll find something to add to your wish list. Keep reading »
Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 jewelry line was an instant success. So now the expectant mother will bring another baby, literally and figuratively, into the fashion world. Nicole has entered into a multi-year, multi-product deal with the owners of Modern Vintage shoes and Earnest Sewn jeans, Rick and Brian Cytrynbaum. And first on the product list is a 20 style footwear line designed by Nicole herself, which will debut in spring 2010, along with a small assortment of handbags, apparel, sunglasses and belts. The line hasn’t been named and the price point hasn’t been set, yet. But the Cytrynbaums expect it to do well based on Nicole’s fashion icon status. Rick said, “Nicole Richie is by far one of America’s biggest fashion icons right now. We’re investing millions into this brand. This is like nothing out there right now.” And we can’t wait! By the way, this reminds me, I’ve been meaning to buy this House of Harlow ring. [WWD via Fashion Indie] Keep reading »
