My home office is so poorly lit that all of my video chats with far-flung friends start off with them saying something along the lines of, “Oh it’s so nice to see…umm…a vague outline of your face!” Obviously I need a new desk lamp. I’ve been scouring thrift stores for cheap options, and let me tell you, there are a hell of a lot of ugly lamp shades in this world. Luckily they don’t have to stay that way. Julie and her boyfriend Evan both own a ton of records, and when they moved in together and blended their collections, their vinyl library got even bigger. Awesome, right? There’s a style, size, and price point for everyone, so click through to find the best home for your beloved vinyl!
When I was 15 my dad took me to the furniture store so I could get my very own desk. When it comes to interior design, I’m fickle, which is why I’ve never bothered to paint the walls in any apartment I’ve ever lived in. What if I get sick of the color? They’re all the beauty of a wallpaper or paint job, with none of the permanency. Use them to create an accent wall, or highlight a favorite piece of furniture. And when you’re over it? No big deal, just peel ‘em off. No muss, no fuss. Keep reading »
