Field Guide: The 12 Types Of Holiday Shoppers

After years of sitting out holiday shopping due to lack of extra fundage (or maybe I’m just a bad person), I’ve had time to sit back and observe the frenzy. I walk through busy shopping thoroughfares and holiday gift markets and people watch. I sip hot apple cider and make mental notes. I’m ready to publish my thoroughly non-scientific findings on humans and their holiday shopping habits. Click through for a field guide to the types of holiday shoppers, where you’ll find them and what you can expect to receive from them.

Sneak Peek: Target And Neiman Marcus’s Designer Holiday Collaboration

Target and Neiman Marcus are at absolute opposite ends of the retail spectrum, which is all the more reason for them to want to come together, right? Whatever the logic behind their decision to collaborate, we have no complaints, even less so now that we’ve gotten to see each of the 55 items from the holiday collection. With prices starting at $7.99, you’d be hard-pressed not to find something that you or someone you know needs this coming season (especially considering, hello, holiday shopping is about to become a legitimate concern). The collection doesn’t hit stores (at Target, Neiman Marcus, and both online sources) until December 1, but the items are sure to sell out fast, so it’s best to go into it knowing exactly what you want. Check out my 12 designer picks from the offerings, and let us know what you’ll be waiting in (or on) line for come December! [Glamour]

Cyber Monday: One Reason To Do Your Holiday Shopping Online

You probably knew that last Thursday was a holiday (Thanksgiving), but did you know that today is one, too? This morning I learned that it’s “Cyber Monday,” the online counterpart to Black Friday. Even though the term is new to me, it was coined in 2005 by a retailers association, and it finally seems to be catching on — there’s even a website dedicated to telling you where the deals are: CyberMonday.com. Below, some of the best online deals going on today…
