Just in time for Earth Day, H&M is putting out a collection of eco-friendly sustainable evening wear called the Conscious Collection. Made from hemp, organic cotton and recycled polyester, the capsule collection has already been spotted on celebs like Michelle Williams and Amanda Seyfreid, and consists of wearable — but fancy! — dresses and short suits. Check ‘em out and get ready for the inevitable fight over these gorgeous items.

So, let me get this straight: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is about a woman attempting to outrun a sadistic rapist and solve a murder, so naturally you’d want to design a line of clothing around her look. Well, not really. It seems that H&M’s “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” collection is mostly a mish-mosh of faded and dingy colors, intentionally worn fabrications and rather impossible to wear stretch faux leathers. So yeah, I won’t be bothering with any of it. But what about you? Feeling the Lisbeth Salander look?
We’ve always wanted to like Marni — the high-end, highly structured Italian designer line. But truthfully, it’s hard to imagine how to wear many of designer Consuelo Castiglioni’s boxy, somewhat masculine creations. Still, we’re curious to see how Castiglioni’s collaboration with H&M might turn out, especially because she claims, rather unconvincingly, that “everything has the same level of quality, craft and attention to detail Marni is known for.” Either way, the collab is sure to gain at least a little extra attention off the Versace x H&M collection hype. Check out a few of the upcoming looks in the video.
People, people, people. I know we all love a good deal, but is it really necessary to engage in physical fights with one another over H&M designer collaborations? That’s exactly what happened at one H&M location in China on the release of the new Versace for H&M collection. Chinese shoppers began lining up yesterday afternoon at several Shanghai locations, and a few savvy (and wealthy) shoppers paid placeholders to hold their spots in line overnight. Annnnd that’s where the trouble began. Apparently some of the professionals didn’t handle it too well when someone tried to cut in front of them this morning. Keep reading »
Last night celebs, models and designers turned out to preview Versace’s new collaboration with H&M. But while the clothes coming down the runway were gorgeous, the ones on the backs of the audience were a mixed bag. Click through to see what we’re talking about.
H&M designer collaborations have been hit or miss over the years. Some — like the Viktor & Rolf collab – were absolute stunners, while others we had high hopes for (Lanvin, in particular) fell terribly flat. So we’re definitely a bit apprehensive about the new Versace for H&M collection that hits stores next month. First off, Versace is a lot of look. A lot. Of. Look. High Versace Priestess Donatella Versace is herself a testament to the brand’s over-the-top loud style. But what’s helped Versace succeed is that her bold prints and overt sexiness have been tempered by high quality fabrics and textiles. So given that H&M’s line will be produced for a lower price point and with lower quality fabrications, well, this could spell trouble. What do you think? Would you wear it?
