Today’s Lady News: Hijab-Wearing Muslim Girl In NY Assaulted By A Classmate

  • A Muslim girl on Staten Island in New York was shoved, punched, kicked and had her hijab (headscarf) nearly pulled off by a 12-year-old classmate, , reportedly because of her religion. The young boy had allegedly been harassing her for months and has been charged with a hate crime, which is a felony. People, this boy is IN THE SIXTH GRADE. [Gothamist, Staten Island Advance]
  • The New York Times has published a follow-up piece to the victim-blaming crapshow it ran earlier this month about an 11-year-old girl in Cleveland, Texas, who was gang raped by 19 boys and men. The editors and/or reporter felt it necessary to mention that the girl wore makeup and dressed like she was older than 11. Let’s hope this one is a bit better? [New York Times]

Sexy Mannequins A Big, Intolerable Problem In Iran

It’s hard for us to look at a mannequin’s uncovered, plastic head and keep our pants on. They’re just that hot. The synthetic and/or sculpted hair, the fake, vacant eyes, and the total lack of resemblance to a real live woman just gets the blood flowing in our nether regions. Aww, yeah.

OK, so obviously that’s not true. They are mannequins. They are inanimate. We do not have a lady boner for them. But apparently the Iranian government is very concerned about the power of the mannequin to seduce and corrupt. Keep reading »
